  • Checking the flop was bad, but only betting 400 on the turn was worse. And he suckered you in with a weak bet on the river.
  • are we looking at the same hand?

Would bet 6-800 on the turn but it looks standard to me. I'll just grab some popcorns and sit back and watch this

    naw philli don't fold that.

I guess... just saying, it's called valuebet for a reason and I want more of it :P, (besides there's no reason to look weaker than we already are)

Edit: might be reading it wrong but I thought there was like 1400 in the pot

donkeycracker could have anything here, easily could have ace rag, 2 pair, he could have even have the flush cause he likes playing suited cards.

Ace on flop sucky card, turn brings flush and straight draws even more suckier, river brings flush and straights, really sucky!!!

generally were gonna lay this down, even if we were getting twice the odds. this board is awful for a call from me. but were gonna call this anyways.
  • The river is a fold. Once you are called on the turn, and with that river card, we are almost never winning and villain is almost never bluffing and a bluff is the only hand we beat.

Me, I may cbet the flop and represent the ace. Because once you check the flop you have pretty much turned your hand face up that you have jj-kk.

    Really,?

Villain bet 400 into a 2700 pot. For the amount of retard bets that come out you dont have to be right very often for calling to be profitable here.

yes and furthermore even though we knew we were beat, we are calling this particular situation everytime, x 10 if its live.

you cannot c-bet a multiway ace high flop with kings

You have to be right about 1 in 7 times or about 14% of the time. Given the texture of that board, I doubt we are winning that often in a multiway pot with KK.

We only beat a bluff on the river. And what calls our turn bet (which was very weak IMO, I would bet closer to 3/4 pot instead of 1/3) and bets the river that KK beats here??
  • darbday wrote: »

If you can't bet the flop you sure as hell can't bet the turn.

I'd much rather cbet the flop and fold then betting the turn. Free cards are bad.

Wetts, I agree with hammer here. We are too far behind too often. Even given the ridiculous odds we're getting, we're only beating 44-, 9J+, JJ, QQ. I mean really, if anyone had any of those cards, why not take a free check and hope your best? I suppose villian could bluff, but if he did he'd have to make it a big bet, not a puny baby bet. Don't pay off the suckbets.
  • Wow, so many wierd opinions, I better get some more popcorn

villain is drawing to four outs, any bigger bet and he folds. on the river it is obvious i got sucked out sooo bad. we are beat 100% of the time....and we are calling this situation 100%. villain must show table he is a donkey, forboon must show table he rules.

The turn there is 7s Ah 9c 6c on board. We now know his hand was 9h Th. So he had any 9, 10 or 8 for a crying call or a thin value bet. And 8 or 10 that isn't a club and he has an easy value bet.

So he has 9 outs for thin value and 7 easy calls or value bets.

The turn bet was what 400 into a 1,900 pot with him knowing (or at least should put you on) a big PP, probably the hand you have. So now he has to call 400 to win 2300, giving him near 6 to 1 pot odds. If he thinks he has all 9 outs, he has about ~18% chance to hit and win so he has the odds to call our turn bet.

On the river villain bets 400 into 2700 because he is either a) affraid of the flush b) an idiot who would've gotten more value from a slightly larger bet or c) for some strange reason putting you on j10.

IMO, the only thing you can fault him on is the call pre. Outside of that, he was allowed to stay in with the check on the flop and weak turn bet.
  • ahh yes overlooked the other 6 outs, thank you sir.

    WTF?

You're not telling the table you rule, in fact the EXACT opposite. You're telling the table that you play your cards face up, you check honestly, you bet weak when you are weak, and you can't lay your hand down even when you KNOW you're beat.

To be blunt, this is the perfect kind of poker player that I want to play against. Easy to read, and gets married to his hand. Value town baby! I wonder, would you have called a 1000 bet on the river? how about 1500?
