4 max, shoot out, will it work?
BACKGROUND: Me and the buddies have a trophy tourney once every 4 months or so. Last time we did a partnered game. Next time, I'd love to do a shootout. 16 guys is usually what we get for these "trophy" tournaments.
I'm looking for some thoughts from your pros. How do you think, 4 tables of 4 players, with the winners of each table playing a final table for the goods would go? My concern is the rapidness of the game. You're putting money into the pot 2 out of every 4 hands. Would a larger than normal starting stack (which is usually 5 k for us) be the cure for the speed? Stealing will obviously be the order of the day, I wonder if players will be more hesitant to play hands because they are putting money so frequently? Will players tighten up too much and just try and maybe fold their way into the final table? Would 3 tables of 6 be better ( I know that equals 18) or maybe even 2 tables of 8?
Any ideas, thoughts, opinions etc are what I'm looking for.

Some of the longest Ching Games are 8-9 handed vs. 14-15 handed.
I think your group will love the idea, assuming they win their tables.
Those who dont will hate it.
