Home game at University of Waterloo

I am new to both this site and to canada/waterloo. I am interested in playing Texas holdem in Waterloo, and I figured this would be a good place to start. If anyone knows of any games/clubs or whatever where it is played, please let me know.

Poker is leagal in Canada right?

    Welcome to the forum! Yes, poker is legal in Canada...are there places that it is not legal? The illegal aspect of it comes in when "the house" benefits from the game in any way ie. taking a rake.

    You will often find posts here from players like Zithal and Redington who are from the KW area and run fairly low buy-in tournaments. PM them and i'm sure they can add you to thier "poker player lists".

    The university has a poker club as well, check out www.uwpokerclub.com. Once school gets going again there will be posts on there about club sponsored games as well as students hosting home games. You should be able to find all kinds of games between these two sites. It's actually a lot harder to find time for homework then to find a poker game around here.
