What's with Rogers??
On the weekend I brought back a HD digital box that I got a free one year offer on with a new television. Then one Monday I get a call from Rogers telling me that as a valued customer, if I agree to stay with them for my internet and cable provider for one year, they will reduce my monthly bill for the next 12 months by $50/month, no catch.
What gives with Rogers?? Are they that paranoid that I am going to leave them and go to the competition because I returned the digital box?? I have been with Rogers (probably since I was born) and have no desire to change my provider. Anyone else get this type of promo from Rogers recently?

what, for other Rogers services (phone, etc.)? they have always had my number and don't really call me. Not sure if because I am on the no call registry?
Anytime you bring something back or change a service or add a service, they bug you.
I am looking into a new phone so that should be a treat,lol
Mine is a 2yr term cable/internet/4 cell phones/home phone and I get about $100/month off. Still pay them a shitload though.
I did this several years ago to cut my cell phone bill to under $9/mo incl taxes and all fees on their retention plan. They have not touched my billing since. It's 40 min a month and the long distance and overuse charges are horrific but it suits my purposes and it is cheaper and less hassle than PAYG cards.

I go into rogers video to pay my bill, usually I pay through my bank but it worked out I had the money on me(winnings from casino rama birthday trip Saturday) they use to take payments at the cashiers checking out videos, nope,so I said o.k. go to the services desk for wireless and cable, wait in line 30 fucking minutes cause both clerks are busy with idiot parents getting there little kids cellphones!!!!!!!! wtf does kids need a cellphone for for christ sakes.
So finally getting to the counter the guy tells me nope no more payments at this desk either you have to go to the kiosk thing over there, so I am like jesus christ so go over put my payment in which you have to round up to the nearest $5 dollars as you can't insert change so get that done( I will be checking tomorrow or Wed. to see that it got applied otherwise there will be hell to pay) so I go by the desk and yell you may want to put a sign up telling people they can't make payments at the counter so they don't wait fucking 30 minutes in line.
So there was a line full of people and 2 at the desk when I yelled that and everyone looking at me,lol I don't care fuck off if you don't like it:laugh: and The clerk said I am so sirry sir(this clerk is actually a good clerk, had him when I returned a cable box, it's more the idiot management that don't think of these things).
So I was shaking with rage, but it could have been worse as for a example I could have still been playing for GTA or reg'd for a mtt or something and say to GTA ya I am playing tonight but don't cause I was standing in fucking line all night, then I would have him or whatever pissed at me cause I did not play.
But anywhooo, got to go get things ready for the street sale and try to get that done.:)
ever thought of paying your bill online or having it charged each month on your Visa or bank account? Might save you some effort in the future. Waiting 30 minutes to save a stamp is -ev IMO.
ummmm, that's what I said in what you quoted,lol I always pay through the bank, like I said I had the money on me and rogers is up the street from me so just happened it was me going in this time.:)

I am looking to get away from rogers for my cell phone and find a cheaper plan.
Everything has gone up over double since I got stuff from Rogers.
I phoned and and got some info on a new phone and plan, No activation fee and 1st month free and half the price as to what I am paying now.(different company)
I don't need much just the basic as I hardly use my phone so makes sense to look into this.:)
Next up is trying to get interest rate dropped on credit card.
Guess I should raise shit more often or sooner, but hopefully it all works out and there is no problems.
HaHA, there is nobody getting loans from banks right now and I am long ways off before I have to anyway to look into that option.
