Beat: The greatest call Ive ever seen live

FML.

Its been a week since this hand happened. Ive debated posting it but I must. It disheartened me towards poker knowing that I'll likely never be this batshit crazy/good. I havent played a hand online or live since.

Im not really looking for hand feedback. I know I trainwrecked the hand.

$400 live club tournament in Woodbridge, Final table. I think the payouts were like 4K, 2K, 1.5K, 1K. 8 handed.

Blinds are 400/800. I have 65K. Button Like 40K. BB Like 60K.

I open from MP to 2200 with AKoff.
Button flats.
BB makes it 5800.
I flat (FML).
Button Flats.

Flop: 4,5,2 - Checked around.
Turn: 8. BB leads 7K. I CR to 20K (FML). Button folds, BB flats.
River 5. BB checks. I shove like 30Kish.

BB tanks for about 3/4 mins and calls. And tables the mighty 9 deuce.

This was not a loose/horrible Woodbridge player. He legitimately put me on exactly what I had. Honestly, even if villain told me he had AK, I doubt I can make this call for all my stack.

In hindsight/analasys, the only hand I can have there is AK/AQ, but to do this in game rather than after the fact is ridiculous to me.

  • nice share. i wonder if you have all your hh from the last couple years if maybe you couldn't find yourself having done this. I'm positive your capable of doing it, and I'm gonna think about this hand for a long time. Maybe he told you he had you an ace king, but if not maybe its possible he just had you on two unpaired over cards? I also wonder if he maybe he picked up a tell on your betting strategies?

anyways that's a daniel negreanu level call imo
  • Heh, come play 2/5 with me sometime:)

    oh..gg.
