  • I definitely wouldn't shove but I'd isolate it a bit better than you did, make it at least in the region of 2,4k to 3k preflop with 3 limpers ahead of you to get value. Apart from that it's obviously just a cooler but you need to maximize the value you get from hands and shoving just isn't the way to go with 22 BB's in a 3 dollar tourney imo
  • I'd never shove pre, unless one of the players is prone to call overbets. Raise size definately an issue with 3 limpers and no position. I like to do pot size raises in that spot.....ie. raise to 3500'ish...as you want some value, but you don't want to play against 3 players.

ive been experimenting with smaller preflop bets so i don't want to deviate so much so i bet around 3/4 which i usually make all my street bets. but also if im gonna see a flop, i may as well save some money with two hell bound callers that spike an ace on the flop. however i think betting a little bigger here would def help in the long run.

    thx both

It seems to me like you're playing scared poker.
IMO, you want to CHARGE these donks that are trying to see a cheap flop with a shitty A. You don't want to save money with KK, you want to get all your money in as soon as possible. At the same time, ideally you want just one caller.

Your preflop raise is too short, they are getting amazing odds to call you. You definetely want one caller, and you want the pot big enough on the flop that you can just get your money in.
I'd raise at least 2800 and go up to 4000 if they're known to limp-call a lot

Just remember that if they all fold you just blew the chance of your tournament...basically
  • this hand isn't a rep of me i don't think, but i think i can agree i raised light.

I disagree. if they all fold your stack increases by 20%. Obviously you want a caller, but its not over, and you don't need KK to make this kind of move.
Also, for those who frequent micro stakes MTTs, you'll notice that when the blinds are this high and people limp, generally they don't fold to raises.

high blinds + early pos limper = "I'm going to see a flop hopefully as cheap as possible with my marginal hand, unless you put me all-in."
