Is this fine?

If the flop doesn't look like we can make an unknown villain bend to our will in one shot, we just fire again right? I've been exerimenting with double barreling quite a bit lately

Comments

  • i will always evaluate before c-betting either street. the post flop call suggests a pocket pair, and since its likely under qq i'd definitely bet the turn.
  • Double barrel here is turn dependent.

The K is the perfect double barrel card imo. Also, A/J/10 are good cards here.

Villain may call 1 bullet with 55-1010, straight draws here, but not 2.

    NH.
  • im railin ya in the 16k rick
  • valiant effort, nice cash
  • He was pretty sick heads up, nice 4 bet shove with K8o and all those 35-40 BB 3bet shoves

    2/775 for 2,3k anyway. gg =)

yes was gonna comment on that, no doubt you could re shove aj. his 3 bet shoves maybe you could play different but i suspect not with the cards you initially bet with. seen you over play aq twice maybe but other than that was happy to watch your play.
  • now to sneak outa the house to get some chew without my neighbors seeing me and giving me the "dude mow your fucking lawn" look.

Is it possible to overplay AQ with 20 BB effective stacks and no 3 bet in front of you lol?

    i saw 3 good ones i think...and 2 i thought you should post here.
  • I'm just curious since I don't know which once you're talking about. I did overplay AQo early midgame against a late position 4,5x raise from a big stack who had just moved tables and ended up 3bet calling again JJ in a huge pot (but you weren't railing that early I think).

Lategame there was a spot when I shoved AQ from the SB against a button limp with effective stacks 14 BB's or soemthing and the BB woke up with AK but that seems pretty standard too.

Actaully I'll look at the HH tomorrow since I have a coaching session with HerchelW so I might find the hands you're talking about then
  • Hand #20912680025

and the hand vs ak is Hand #20912874588 but you had like 20 plus bb and you just shoved allin pre flop with 2 limpers.

anyways, thought theyd be good to discuss, but your working with a pro so obv what he says is more important.

    [] rungood imo

Don't really think it's overplaying if he's opening even a fairly tight range, and that flat by him is just ridiculous
  • Seems OK/standardish.
  • i agree if the opp. wants to play he should shove not call. in my small exp, i find the opp raises with a pair or an ace at least. and more often than not its aj+ or a pair. i think hell toss 22-66 to the re raise maybe. i also think if your going to commit him then you should shove him all in which puts you aqo vs. 77+,aj+ (plus some fold equity?). I don't like that when i have a decent stack, i'd rather just call and look for an ace or a queen on the flop. although it may not have changed much, you may have had a chance to fold to a turn shove. But that's that's not exactly fair say cause we got to see the hand. I don't like to stack off with aq all the time because its the losing hand to much.

Problem lies with you putting him on this range. He can be opening 910s for all I know

i don't see enough people do that, but i suppose that its a higher stake game than what i play. but im still not looking to stack off preflop, and i think thats what essentially what you did. but i see your side of it then thx.
  • In my opinion, I think your opponent has an Ace high calling you. First, he called you preflop. Then he called you on the flop to see what you will do on the turn. You bet pretty strong on the turn. Your opponent pretty convinced you have something and would not risk anymore and folds.
