  • there seem to be a lot of 'clubs' over there but I'm not sure if you have to be a member or I can just show at the door?

I played in London this past September.

The best/biggest room is the Grosvenor Victoria Casino on Edgeware road. Its got 20ish tables and they spread a bunch of NLHE and PLO regularly. Up to 5/10 on both on weekdays and bigger on weekends and obviously even bigger when EPT, WSOPE or UKIPT are in town. They have a dress code there...no shorts, no ripped clothing, no sandals. You have to be a member but thats just a matter of showing your passport and getting your picture taken. They have an amazing banking system there where you can keep an account there and just withdraw and deposit money there for your use as you please.

The Empire at Leicester Square is a much smaller poker room. About 8ish tables but its right in the heart of Londons entertainment district. Bars, restaurants, theatres, hotels everywhere. They only run the smallest of NL games. This is where they run the WSOPE if that interests you.

    Couple London Tips...

If your going to be spending more then a couple days there...learn the subway system (the London Underground or "The Tube" as they call it) Its so convenient to get around town.

Traffic coming from the other side takes some getting used to. A couple times I looked the wrong way for traffic and took a step out only to have a car whizz by from the other side. Seriously, look both ways.

If you go to a soccer game...get tickets in the visiting team section. They actually separate the supporters of the two teams. The visiting team gets one small section which basically gets profanities screamed at by the 10k+ home fans for the entire game. Was awesome. War Liverpool. FU West Ham Wankers.

+1. The way that works best is if you go "Right, left, and right again" just to be safe. In England, pedestrians are treated as a nuisance by drivers. Just remember that you DO NOT have the right of way, and you will probably not get killed.

Oh, and Kai? Up the Hammers !!! Liverpool are shite . . . and will be for a few years yet.
