The CPT and Blind Structures

I only mention this because I have seen in numerous posts regarding the major event's extremely aggressive blind structures. I am guessing at the current moment that it is entirely upto the Casino running the tourney to decide the blind structure but it seems that the general opinion is that they are a too aggressive.

Has there ever been discussion about a standardized structure or some type of an approval system?

My though process here is that we are crowning Canadian Poker Champions so why make it a who gets cards towards the end of the tourney wins type of event (aka BINGO)? I know the Casinos want to get the tourneys over as quickly as possible but why can they not have a structure (at least for the Major events) that lets the players play?

  • I kind of agree...
The CPT is putting it's name on these tournies but basically giving up all control over them...

I understand this is year 1 though.. It will take time to work out everything!!
    It's been great for a 1st year..

    GET TV hehe :o)
  • You are correct. Currently, the casinos have ALL control over the tournament structures. There is a lot of be said for some kind of standardization and hopefully in future seasons it will be considered.

Note that I am no longer involved in the CPT. Enquiries should be directed to info@canadianpokerplayer.com
