Please elaborate. I saw a few very brief and vague ads for it but I have no idea what it's about. Something to do with New Orleans or Dixie music?
Basically it's stories of life in New Orleans a couple months post Katrina. Music plays a very big part which I'm sure will cut down on the viewership, but if you have any affinity to Jazz/Blues/Creole it's a no brainer.
The visuals I found stunning both in good and horrible ways, and with a constant mix of local music interspersed it's a feast for the senses. From there the acting of Wendell Pierce, Khandi Alexander and Steve Zahn (yes, really......I've never been a big fan but now I believe he can act) just works in a natural progression.
I can assure you it will not appeal to everyone but I am in.
BTW it was announced yesterday that HBO has ordered a second season.
