Vimy ridge
93 years ago this morning, Canadians, fighting for the first time as a unified force under Canadian command, attacked, captured, and held Vimy Ridge in France. Hailed as the finest feat of military arms, this battle proved to be the turning point in securing ultimate victory in WW1. Canadians succeeded where others could not, and helped forge an identity for our fledgling nation. With the recent passing of the last veteran of The Great War, I think it behooves us to pause for a moment, and reflect on the legacy those brave and valiant troops left for this country
