It'll depend on start times for me....hopefully the 300 & 500 for sure, and the 1100 if I satty in.

    You?
  • If I have the time and money, the friday or maybe the sunday.
  • April 27th - May 2nd

    Super Satty's:

    Friday April 30: $500 + $50 NLHE 12K chips, 4 pm (final 2 tables restart Sunday @ 1pm)

    GL!!!!
  • Ill play the Saturday $1100 and perhaps one of the others
  • Lot's of cash game action as well...went to register for the $300 today (noon)...there was still a 5-10 PL DC game going, and will probably run non-stop until Sunday.
  • According to the casino, they had 217 players for event 1, with a prize pool of 63k.

I don't understand how this is possible. The buy in is $300 + $30 rake + $10 optional chips for the dealers. If you take $300*217 = $65.1k. Does the 2.1k go to the championship ring or some other prize?
  • Event # 1 confirmed at 217 paid entries....they were allowing re-entries until the first break, so there were probably only about 170 players there.

1st paid $17G......I made a good run but fell a little short....6th for $3300.....AQ<AK<KK, unfortunately I was in the middle and had shipped it in to a lagtard bigstack.

Should have taken today off work......going to be a long day today, as I didn't get home until 5am.
  • Nice finish
  • tks Hobbes

Event # 2 = 240 players......I think it was 35K for 1st....I was out early (no hands + bad play = shiity result), but I get to sleep now.
  • Nice job! Congrats T8. Sweet dreams :)
  • 1K Event had 157 runners, with a 45K 1st place.....made a good run, but fell short @ 27th (16 Paid)
  • Damn, would have liked to meet you in persn T8,found PokerKai. Was there with CPT all weekend. Joanne Jost runs an awesome event, loved it. New favorite road trip.
  • PokerKai was final ten with great chips on the final day of the 550 when I left, hope he takes it down!

Yeah, sorry, figured out who you were, but didn't get a chance to say hi.....next time for sure. Did you play any events?
  • I didn't get too :( My wife played the $1100 main and some 1-2. I was geared to play Sunday but had to be back for my 9-5 and if I miss anymore work for poker I am gonna need to get twice as good fast. I was there to work with the Casino and the tour. We tore up the town with TJ, Lacey, Sanborn and the Calgary crew on Friday night so satuday didn't really go well for anyone, lol. Joel took 11th in the main and Sanborn won the thursday for 17k, so our group didn't get totally smoked, but Edmonton definaetlly owned the series.

Also met John Lam from Ontario, guess he used to post here lots. WPT Niagra final table in 2006, new member of the CPT, nice guy. He took 3rd in the main.

Just did a show on pokerpodradio (Show 135), should be up later tonight at I-tunes and the site and talked for quite a bit about the event.

My Calgary high stakes article is out in Poker Pro Canada, was happy to get feedback from the players in Edmonton. Heard Malcom was gonna spread a 25k min buy, was telling him the boys in Calgary had action going, sick 25-50-100 PLO that turned into a 40hr session looked like the only one that was missing out being in Edmonton was him.

Wicked series, Joanne is throwing another in a few months I hear, be sure to tell everyone it is worth it by far. Very cool of Casino Yellowhead to put the bounties up on Mary and Lacey. $1100 bounty in a $550....sic!

Was nice to meet you. I didnt realize you had to leave so quickly or I woulda stopped to talk earlier. I was a little engrossed with the tournament. Joanne does good work every year, spread the word.

Id take most of what Malcolm has to say with a grain of salt. Hes more bluster then anything. We did get a 25/50 PLO going on Thursday.
