wsop satellites
Once again party poker has beaten full tilt and pokerstars on these.
the 80 buy in sub one looks good, looks like about 1 in 4 get something with of course just 1st place to move on to final satellite where you have to finish 1st,lol I would go for anything that offers more then 1 package myself unless blondefish wins more then 1 seat and wants to give me 1;)
But anyway satellites are now available on party poker

It appears that us players are being charged $2K out of the $14K for "hotel accommodation and hospitality"! Last year, it was all free, when I got to stay in a suite at Monte Carlo Resort for 13 days; all the food, drinks I wanted and even a cute blond masseuse >:D at the exclusive Mike Sexton Suite; parties at MGM's Studio 54, Tabu and Wet Republic; a free iPod Touch and as much PartyPoker clothing that I wanted; plus $200,000 Leaderboard.
Another disadvantage with PartyPoker's satellites is its relatively high rake as usual:
- $8+$1 Speed, 11.1% rake
- $1.60+$0.40 Rebuy, 20% rake
- $3.50+0.50 Rebuy, 12.5% rake
- $75+$5, 6.3% rake
- $700+$50, 6.7% rake! It doesn't make sense that a $750 satellite would have a higher rake than an $80 satellite!
Just like FTP's WPT satellites have shockingly lower rake than PartyPoker's WPT satellites, even though PartyPoker owns WPT, the rake for WSOP satellites will probably be lower at other sites.
888 is offerring 88 WSOP packages. It consists of the $10K buy-in, $2500 spending money, and unlike PartyPoker, FREE hotel for 10 nights, 888 poker merchandise and party. If you are willing to grind at 888, this may be a good option to take a shot at a WSOP package.
I don't plan to ever play at UB, but looking at its WSOP promotion, it has a bunch of advantages over PartyPoker, including a progressive cash bonus pool, lower rake satellites, $12K cash for extra wins, and a King of Satellites leaderboard.
So while PartyPoker and Everest had the best WSOP packages last year, this year PartyPoker may have the worst if it's the only one charging an extra $2K. Please post the links of other sites' WSOP promotions.
Sorry philliivey, but unlike other sites where they encourage you to keep playing by giving you $12K for every extra win, PartyPoker has the following bad rule where it makes no sense to keep playing any more:
"Prize packages are non transferable and no cash alternative is available." :arghh:
Conclusion: Even though I have already won a couple of $750 WSOP entries, I plan to unregister since PartyPoker's WSOP package may be the worst value this year.
son of a bitch! fuuuuuu party poker, I was more then happy to give you a bigger cut;)
If you earn your Main Event seat online at Full Tilt Poker and go on to win, we’ll give you a $10,000,000 bonus on top of your first-place prize money!
In addition to the $10 million bonus, if you finish in the money at this year's Main Event, we'll give you a free seat to the 2011 Main Event.
Winning Multiple Main Event Seats
Players who win multiple seats to the Main Event will receive one (1) $12,000 prize package consisting of one (1) WSOP Main Event seat and $2,000 in spending money, and have $12,000 credited to their Full Tilt Poker account for each additional seat that they win. If a player wins a $12,000 WSOP Main Event prize package and a $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event seat through one of Full Tilt Poker’s other promotions, they will keep the prize package and have $10,000 credited to their Full Tilt Poker account. All credits to a player’s Full Tilt Poker account will be made using Tournament Dollars (T$).
If a player has won a WSOP Main Event seat at Full Tilt Poker, and wins a WSOP Main Event seat at another venue, whether it is online or in a brick-and-mortar casino, Full Tilt Poker will credit the player with $10,000 in T$, provided they furnish Full Tilt Poker with a copy of their seat registration form for the Main Event.
If a player takes T$ in lieu of a prize package, they will no longer be eligible for Full Tilt Poker’s $10 Million WSOP Main Event Mania, and will not receive $10 Million from Full Tilt Poker if they should win the WSOP Main Event.
$10 Million Main Event Mania
All players who earn an entry into the Main Event through Full Tilt Poker will be eligible to collect $10,000,000 if they win the tournament.
Full Tilt Poker will pay out the $10,000,000 prize in equal $1,000,000 installments over a 10-year period. Players must agree to a 10-year exclusive endorsement contract with Full Tilt Poker allowing us to use their name, voice, and likeness in all future online and offline promotions. Additionally, the player agrees to play a minimum of 10 hours per week at Full Tilt Poker.com, and to attend any promotional events or tournaments that Full Tilt Poker deems appropriate. Player will be ineligible to promote any other online or offline poker-related company.
If a Player reaches the final table of the Main Event, but does not finish in first place, Full Tilt Poker will provide them with a one-time cash payment of $50,000. If a player finishes in either second or third position at the Main Event, Full Tilt Poker will provide them with a one-time cash payment of $100,000. A player who collects either $50,000 or $100,000 from Full Tilt Poker will not be required to fulfill any future promotional obligations on behalf of Full Tilt Poker.
Please see Promotional Agreement below for further details.
2011 Main Event Entry
All players who win entry to the 2010 WSOP Main Event through Full Tilt Poker and finish in a paid position will win entry to the 2011 WSOP Main Event. Players who win Main Event entry will be required to wear Full Tilt Poker gear during play and additional media coverage of the event in accordance with tournament regulations. Please note that there is no cash value ascribed to the 2011 Main Event entry; if a winner is unable to participate in the 2011 Main Event, they will forfeit this prize and no cash equivalent will be awarded.
not bad, except you bigwigs can't give me a seat when you win more then 1:p.
Also pleased to enter the fantasy pool contest if they have it again this year;)
Hopefully, Everest will start its WSOP promotion much sooner than last year and be the best value again, so I may actually be tempted to grind WSOP satellites this year. Otherwise, I will probably not take a serious shot at a WSOP/WPT seat this year unless PartyPoker greatly improves its promotions.
FTP bonuses:
Free hotel for at least 3 days until you're out of the Main Event +
Free access to the FTP hospitality suite +
Dinner with FTP pros +
~$1000 EV for 2011 ME seat IF you cash +
~$14,500 EV IF you make the final table ($50K to $10 million).
PartyPoker:
WSOP poker seminar with Team Party, e.g., Mike Sexton, Tony G, Kara Scott, and/or Ian Frazer
MINUS $2,000 being charged for hotel & hospitality!
In other words, it is -EV to play the $750 WSOP final satellites at PartyPoker compared to FTP, UB, 888, etc.
What was the EV of the everest bonus last year, before the ME started? I know it turned out to be an awesome bonus cause of Antoine.
Cake one this year is no committments. If you win on Doyle you can actually split it up into other events.
Just to clarify, if you win one (and only one) $12k Main Event seat on FTP, are they putting the $12k into your account or is it handled differently from when you win a second seat? I won an ME seat on Stars in 2007 and they just put the $11,000 into my cash account.
From their site is says "Players who win multiple seats to the Main Event will receive one (1) $12,000 prize package consisting of one (1) WSOP Main Event seat and $2,000 in spending money, and have $12,000 credited to their Full Tilt Poker account for each additional seat that they win."
How will FTP provide you with the first ME seat entry? Do they not just put the $10k + 2k expenses in your account?
Thanks.
If you want the wsop cash $ instead the best option is Cake as they put in the $ right after the tourney with absolutely no restrictions.
Thanks... so basically, there is no difference from winning the first ME entry to winning multiple ones... I was just curious as the wording implies a difference, but from what I have read elsewhere, third party registrations are still a no-go, so they have to give you the cash. I guess the only difference with the first win, is that if you do enter and where the FTP gear, you qualify for all of the bonuses.
DONKEYS DONKEYS ALL AROUND...
I am already getting frustrated with the stupid Donk calls that have been haunting me the last 4-5 days since the satellites started...
People calling raises with nothing.. then Donkin it up on the river... I've been so close to smashing my laptop the last couple days...
Anyone else seeing this happen?? Or am I just having some horrible horrible luck sitting at tables with the biggest donkeys.. Cuz I am not playing badly.. I've gone over and over how I've played hands.. And I am not seeing anything wrong..
Sorry guys.. had to vent a little..
No this is not me MA ing:p
Trust me I know how you feel;)
From FTPDoug
You're playing for $12K packages, and you'll get at least $12K of value no matter what option you choose. If you decide not to play the Main Event (or win extra packages), you'll get 12K T$. If you choose to go to the Main Event, you'll get your $2K in spending money right away and then $10K wired to you closer to the event.
The extras are only given to the players who play the Main Event wearing FTP gear. The extras being the $10M bonus thing, the 2011 Main Event seat for cashing in 2010, and the free hotel/dinner/suite access.
Thanks - this makes sense... Might try to satellite into one of this weekends qualifiers....
- +$10,000 EV from $1 Million Match
- +$1,000 airfare for a friend
- VIP treatment with free parties at Pure Nightclub and a penthouse in Caesars Palace, which were both awesome
- hospitality lounge, with free meals (2nd only to PartyPoker's lounge) and four Internet PCs
- exclusive WSOP backstage tour, photo of you wearing the 2009 Main Event bracelet, and a meeting with WSOP bigwigs like Jeffrey Pollack, where I asked the most questions.
- limousine every half hour from Caesars Palace
- no free hotel, only reduced rate at Caesars Palace.
The Leaderboard was already in PartyPoker's first posting of its 2009 WSOP promotion and that is why I grinded the WSOP satellites right away and won a package early. What was very late was PartyPoker deciding on and properly disclosing the Leaderboard payout structure.
888's final $500+$25 WSOP satellite has a rake of 4.8%, which is lower than PartyPoker's satellites. Both sites steal money from your account if you don't play for awhile.
I just got an email warning from 888 that 10% of my bankroll will be deducted every month if I don't log in within two weeks! I chatted with 888 support if I have the option to withdraw my balance, but they claimed that I have to bet over $700 more before I can withdraw and that I have to first make another deposit from Moneybookers since my last deposit was more than six months ago! :bs: I submitted my full cashout anyway, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they won't prevent me from cashing out and I'll never have to deal with 888 ever again.
I got banned from 888 for refferring too many friends there. They had a very generous raf bonus before and we all profitted off of it.
Thanks for this information... that is actually a pretty decent package and it appears that all Main Event entrants got about $20k in the Match bonus last year thanks in part to Antoine's 3rd place finish.
If I read their site correctly, the only flag with the Everest ME packages is that you have to play the event. There is no option for any form of T$ or cash equivalent for a package. Just something to note in case someone is not sure about playing if they won.
Since Everest/UIM is suing the WSOP to back out of its $8.4 million sponsorship for 2010, it doesn't seem to make sense for Everest to continue spending so much on its WSOP promotions. An ESPN affiliate in France, which is Everest's most lucrative market, has been replacing the Everest logo the past two years with one of its major competitors, Full Tilt Poker This sounds similar to why WPT NAPC was kicked out of Fallsview, when the logos of Fallsview Casino were replaced with poker sites in WPT re-broadcasts.
PokerStars' 2010 World Series satellites are here and there is more reason than ever for you to win your package on the world's biggest online poker site. Not only can you win your entire trip to the World Series Main Event (and the chance to win millions of dollars), but PokerStars is going to throw in a huge incentive just to make the money in the Main Event: a main event prize package to the PCA or NAPT. Talk about value, huh?
If the satellites aren't up already, keep a very close eye on the EVENTS-> WSOP tab in the PokerStars tournament lobby. They will be up today. You'll find a full range of cash satellites, FPP satellites and Steps, where you can ladder your way to glory.
Here's what you'll you'll be playing for:
2010 POKERSTARS WORLD SERIES PRIZE PACKAGE
$10,000 World Series buy-in
Eight nights of hotel accommodations (July 4-12) at Palms Hotel and Casino
$1,000 cash to go toward travel expenses
In all, that's a $12,000 package for the world's biggest poker event.
As always, the people who choose to fly the PokerStars flag while they play are also going to party in style. If you're a qualifier and wear the PokerStars logo while you play, here's the cool stuff to which you'll be entitled:
A PokerStars player bag full of all kinds of neat gear
Two tickets to the PokerStars World Series party (last year Nelly brought down the house at Rain in what is still talked about as one of the hottest events in town)
50,000 VPPs (VIP Player Points)
Free suite upgrades for Supernova and Supernova Elites
If that doesn't sound like enough, PokerStars is throwing in some serious incentives to the people who go deep.
If you're qualifier with a PokerStars logo on your chest and make it into the money, PokerStars will give you a free package to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure or any other North American Poker Tour Main Event.
If you are a qualifier with a PokerStars logo on your chest and manage to win the Main Event, PokerStars will give you $1 million. Simple as that.
