horribly run tourney, donkeys everywhere but then again, it's always the same if I don't win, it makes me feel better about my crappy game :-)
I kid. Will be a returning customer, thanks Buzzzard!!
Holt Poker Tour has crowned another new champion. Gargoyle, in only his second start, has captured his first championship, beating a field of 42. He carried a huge amount of chips throughout the final table, to propel him to victory. The final table progressed slowly until they were down to 3, then Gargoyle took out the final two contenders in rapid order. Congratulations to second place finisher lazyant for his second straight cash. He went on an amazing run when we went to two tables and built an awesome amount of chips.
Thanks to estar, r3m1x, bigslik77 and Muddguts for coming out and playing their first games here. Muddguts made it to the final table and finished a very respectable 9th and bigslik77 made it all the way to 3rd place. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves enough to return.
In the craziest hand ever here, our defending champ chrisrowl111 was crippled in the first blind level, when his quad sevens were beaten by Little_Brother's rivered quad nines. Much to Chris's credit, he then hung on to finish in 26th place.
sstar made another long run. He finished in 6th place, so he has now finished in every money spot except first. Mrs. sstar, Cvette did even better by finishing in 4th.
We found it hard to believe the tournament ended just before 10pm. After only three bustouts in the first four levels, I thought we would be in for a long day.
Again, we had a long waiting list to get into this tournament. Of the seven people on it, six showed up, and they all ended up playing.
Event #19 is tentatively scheduled for April 17th at 3:30. I will post in early April, letting you know if this will be a go or not. Thanks to everyone who comes out and supports these tournaments. The numbers have been increasing and it is nice to meet new people every month. This year, I will try to run all summer, so I hope you continue to come out.

ahhhh, don't I wish. I was losing at the cash game long before whoever it really was took 9th.
One thing I really liked about this tourney? It may sound a little gay, but, it was the people. Everyone was friendly and having a great time it seemed. It was apparent that many know each other but there wasn't that clique feeling to it, they made everyone feel welcome IMO.
Alright, wishy-washy stuff out of the way, friendly people or not, next time I mow them down without any remorse :-)

It was a crazy hand, that gave me hope of getting off the waiting list early in the tournament. However Bigslick77 was the player who made quad 9s on the river. I couldn't believe how well Chris played the short stack afterwards. Nor could I believe that it took until the last five minutes of the fourth blind level for the first player to bust out of the tournament. It was a really good day of poker.
Thanks Buzzzardd for hosting and organizing this great game and thanks sstar for dealing until the end when we were down to the last five. As mentioned, very nice people enjoying themselves.

Great game and a great bunch of people. I hope to make it to the April game and push my luck.
Thanks for hosting Dave.
