Oasis of the seas.

Has anyone else seen the size of this ship? It is friggen nuts!

I went to book a cruise for my work shutdown and my agent told me about it so I came home to take a gander online and wow....I am now booked for July! >:D

Hope this link works!

I believe Oasis is 3-4 times heavier than Titanic. Crazy!
  • Here is a picture my cousin took beside her Carnival ship

    Attachment not found.
  • Was on it's sister ship, Mariner of the Seas two years ago.

Bring poker chips and cards with you.

The poker in the Casino was awful, 2/5NL $15 max rake , !0%,

The dealers were awful, They couldn't read the board and pushed the pot to the wrong person more than half the time. To everyone's credit the players always pushed the pot back to the person that won.

After the first day, we played poker in some guys stateroom, or the cardroom.
  • I also saw some TV special about it, that boat looks awsome. Would love to take it for a trip.
  • We were just on the Independence of the Seas which is the class just below Oasis. 4200 passenger on ours 6400 on the Oasis. You will forget you are on a ship. Independence has a prominade which is lined with many shops cafes and restaurants. Our inside cabin had a large bay window overlooking the prominade. Changes the scope of an inside cabin completely. Best vacation value, gourmet meals each night, no limit to the food games and entertainment. Plus each morning you wake to a different port to explore.

That is a crazy huge ship, but remember Titanic was built 100 years ago!

CompleXEH- Have a great trip, please post some pics and a TR!
  • Cruises are still my favourite vacation type. The only thing that would make them perfect would be open bar. :)
  • Open bar in your room + extra large travel mug = problem solved.
  • I was on the Queen Mary II a couple years ago and when we were docked in Bahamas, this ship just massive compared to its neighbors. Looks like Oasis is even bigger. Try and track down a picture I took when docked.
  • This thread is not about me.

    [x] disappointed.
  • Don't be ridiculous. They're all about you . . .

That ship is nutz. Saw a Discovery Channel show a while back that was talking about floating cities, sort of like an ocean-going condo development. I can see where they would get the idea . . .
  • Yea it is crazy and I can't wait to see it up close! ANyways I will make sure I bump this up once I get to the point with pictures! Long way to go but I always book in advance :)

Gonna be fun to Zip-line and ice skate in the middle of the ocean!
  • Leaving Saturday, thought I would revive this thread :P

Not sure if I am gonna be online too much but if I am I will try and do some updating! As for a TR, I am a terrible writer so it will be short and sweet! haha as for pictures, there will be a TON!
  • Looking forward to the pics.

I get the appeal of cruises, but I hope you have some interesting sites to see.

Kinda on topic -- does cardplayer (I think it was them) still run those poker cruises?
  • The stops aren't the most interesting places in my opinion but for us we wanted the ship! We have been on a cruise before and loved it!
  • Bon Vonage!
  • cruises are great with small kids; I'm looking at the 11 day out of New York leaving in Dec. on Queen Mary. Stops in a couple places I haven't been before (Granada and Turks) plus all the usual ports. Looking forward to picking up a new watch in St. Thomas :) Have a great trip.

Most cruise ships have poker these days although it seems to be a lot of limit. On my last cruise it was strickly 5/10 limit. Table was packed all day.
  • I am going to be on this boat in Sept for 10 days. TOTAL BRAG. Looking forward to checking out the casino on board.

    I second this.

Pour some liquor into new containers Listereen = scotch , (they don't like you bringing your own booze on board)

never seen them check anyone for booze; once you get to the islands, everyone buys on shore. Cheaper than bottled water.
  • Quick update as I finally made it home from Delta hell! lol I was supposed to be home sunday at 9pm and finally arrived today (monday) at 1pm and without luggage of course! God I hate the woman for booking with them!!

Anyways the ship was amazing and the casino was very large compared to any other onboard casino but the poker room was very disappointing! I don't know about you guys but I hate playing on the computer tables with no chips or cards and they had 3 tables of this so I didn't even bother playing :( They did have about 4-5 heads up machines that were free and so we had a lot of fun messing around on those!

That is all for now as I have to go to work....yay!
