The tournament play at the Cave is typically awful. Players can't fold top pair to save their life. There is no point in trying to bluff as most will call you down with any pair or draw.
That being said, if you wait for strong hands you can get paid off and make a pretty deep run. Usually 40-60 runners with 25 min blinds, 15k starting stack and blinds start at 100/200.
The cash game is action on steroids !! Blinds are .50 / $1 but pots exceed $30+ on a regular basis (max buy in is $80). Just have to wait for a strong hand and value bet it to death.
I love that you say typically, given that you have been once.
My experience having been several times is that the cash game runs until the end of the tournament or 2:00 a.m., whatever is later. On Friday at one point there were three tables running. Most of the time there are two tables for part of the night, sometimes there has only been one. Seats at the cash game are for tournament players first. If you come for the cash game only, you can be bumped by someone who has busted out of the tournament.

I did years ago but they got busted.
Thanks, I will be there by 6:30. Do you still go on occasion?
Hey Comp, What would it cost me to catch a ride with you to Cambridge ? My wife is taking the kids north so I don't have a ride.
Cheers
Timmies tea? Where do I get you from?
Typically ends 12:30-1am.
TR please!

Was that after you coolered me with AA to my KK ?
Yes, and it was also going into the heads up game with a 20-1 chip lead. On the upside, he had 14 bounties to cash in.
Note: This post may or may not indicate that work in my basement is near completion and/or the play I'm directing is closing this week.
...just sayin
Geesh Rob, why the heck do you keep doing this "work" thing? Retire and run Bristol events full time...
