Would he call more on that river?

Comments on what else could be done here welcome. Obviously did not like the turn but he let me see the river for cheap.

  • i don't think you can tell from this. but i always bet my sets on the flop because its the best shot at hiding your strenghth, plus thats a drawy board so they should have to pay to see cards and its likely they caught a little of something. then a bet on the river may look like a bluff or a weak hand i think.
  • 100% he would if you bet the flop...as played I shove river
  • Bet flop on that board. You were behind on the turn.

    As played, shove river.
  • Also, dont post results in strategy threads. It skews peoples opinions on hands.

Point taken and will do. Thanks Wetts.

Looking back at the hand almost instantly after I played it I regretted not betting the flop, to a point. Had he just flatted with his 10's and got really agressive on the turn I dont know for sure how I would have reacted. I guess it would depend on the aggression as I did have a slightly larger stack.

It was also fairly early in this tournament and had only seen villain play a couple hands. As played I knew I was getting away with a cheap look at the river, with the option of being able to get away from the hand if the board didnt pair, or in this instance with the case 8 comming out (yay for me).

~PS Made it to 5th in this one :)
