Sometimes You Just Want To Punch People

Playing 1/2 at Caesar's Windsor this morning. End of a long session, everyone is trying like mad to hit the bad beat.

I'm BB, get 5h6h. UTG limps in, two other limpers, CO makes it 10. Button calls, I know that two of the callers after me will call this raise as it's the standard table raise. I call, two of the three limpers call.

Flop comes 3h4c7h. I check, limpers check, CO checks.

Turn 10c. I bet out 35, one limper calls, both of the others walk away.

River 8d. I bet out 100. Guy thinks for about 30 seconds and reraises me all in. I call. Guy says "I've got a straight". I say me too and flip mine over. He smirks and fucking slow rolls Js9d for the nuts and takes my stack.

Took way too much effort not to drag the little prick out back. Suckouts happen, especially from idiotic plays that I love he makes aside from the 7% of the time he hits that. Just can't stand the slow roll with the smirk. Good thing is the guy is a regular there and an absolute idiot, so he'll give me the 300 back and then some, but damn did it piss me off.

  • shouldnt have made such a SHITTY raise on 4th street.

bad play and you got pwnt.

    punch yourself if anything.
  • Gee, there's a shock, epic chimming in with a comment that is simultaneously useless and idiotic. Well played sir. Anyone else with actual intelligence want to chime in?
  • LOL, cyberieus, the fact that you even paid 10 bucks to play that hand tells me lots about your poker skills.

Luck box catch on the flop, and slow playing it, set yourself up for ownage, and Im glad you did.. you know better for next time.

    play better hands.

    /thread.
  • As I said, anyone with actual skills and intelligence want to chime in? Constructive criticism from real players is always welcome.
  • LOL, body slam somethin when you get home:D

Like your new sig, sister and nephew going to disneyland, folks off to vegas on Monday
  • Don't mind fed, he's a little over enamoured with himself...

If I read it right, $50. in the pot preflop. Bet of $35 on the flop is about right to take out draws, especially a gutshot, but meh they do it. He'll give it back,,, but probably to someone else.. lol..
Fed woulda just gone allin, never mind playing poker... Obvious lack of experience.. However I would bet the flop as well, maybe $20. ? Hoping someone goes over the top..

And as for playing suited connectors for 5-1 odds, me too as long as I'm deep enough.. And I'm the old tight guy..

I forsure would have bet the flop, and bet real hard on the turn to push anyone off a draw or even a set or flush draw.

Definite mistake on my part not betting the flop. Thought pattern for this: oh man, I hope someone has 55 and the 5h hits so we can get the bad beat. CHECK!
