final 2 tables...

Does your game play loosen a tad with shortened tables, as lesser cards in play make certain hands better?

For instance, last 18 guys goin at it, and there 6 or even 5 ppl at your table...

Do you play a little looser, thus making normally full ring hands that are junk, more valuable?

im talking lower pp's and A10 off, etc... raise 3-4x BB still or what? what are your thoughts?

I find myself tightening up and running cold alot, and ideally, this is the spot where I really wanna start taking peoples chips and start making plays to get in the drivers seat to ship it home.

Thanx.

  • depends on the tourny

I usually get more loose and agressive the fewer people there are when the blinds and antes are high as well

I guess it plays into #BB in your stack and the speed of the game you can pretty shortstacked really quick
i'm calling little pp and raising A* with 5 or less at my table

to me it's when the actual poker and phsych come into play

umm, calling with small pp'rs shorthanded at higher blind levels? No way, it's either raise or fold, depending on position, stacks and reads. You don't generally don't have the odds to set mine and if you call in EP and get re-raised what do you do?

I agree for the most part with position, stack etc
I find online that there are a lot more shoves on raises preflop and it seems to happen to me that if I raised my 55 someone shoves and I have to call

maybe this is why I usually come in place 2-5
  • I know its all situational, but Im curious on your mind set with marginal hands?

I always misplay sucker hands like Q,9 suited or 44 and stupid shit like that.

LAG or TAG is the question?

even I have trouble shipping it home sometimes (I know, hard to believe) and its getting frustrating when I grind real hard all tourney and fizzle in the last 2 tables. :bs:

    Thanx.
  • My internet game is actually getting closer to my live game... I certainly play marginal hands shorthanded in the right situation but I'm NEVER calling with them.. It's raise or fold, makes life so much simpler..

oddly enough i'm somewhere in the middle

i find myself opening up from my TAG hands to more mediocre split connectors etc

I probably do need to raise/fold like Comp says more
