Final Table Variation
Hey guys,
I run a regular game with a leaderboard. Traditionally the top 3 point earners split up the money with the winner getting the trophy. To mix things up for 2010 I would like to have a tournament of champions to decide the winner. To qualify you would have to finish in the top 10 in the point standings. The top ten would then play down for the money and the winner gets the trophy.
My question is this: Is a viable option to give the 10th place points finisher fewer chips (still a starting M=30) and scale up to the 1st place points finisher
more chips (a starting M=60) to reward the better finish in the standings?
Has anyone played in such an event? What are the pros and cons you can think of with this arrangement? I tried to search and Google this but haven't found the correct "thing" to search for.
Thanks,
Young Grimm

You can do what you want but....
Speaking as a fish....
Having a tournament of champions would be an awful idea for the fish. I would try to spend energy doing things to make the fish feel more welcome, than emphasizing that they suck.
