Autographed Sklanksy Book

This is cool! I ordered Tournament Poker for Advanced Players from the Poker Stars FPP store, and it arrived today with the following scribbled inside:

"Derek, Best Poker Star!"

Now, the signature was hard to read, but it looked like it started with a D...as in David Sklansky. Excited (but ever so skeptical), I emailed Poker Stars Support and got this response:

"Hello Derek, thank you for writing. This book has been signed by the author, David Sklansky. Do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance.

Best Regards,

Carlos
PokerStars Support Team"



SWWEEEEEET! Has anyone else received an autographed book from Poker Stars in the past?

The authours sign all the books that PokerStars 'gives' away... I think they must have a deal worked out, like Stars says 'I'll buy 'x' number of your books, if you sign them as they go out'.

I don't mean to take away from your excitement... this is obviously a very cool thing. Others can expect the same when they order books with their FPP's from Stars.

We have a tradition in our family. Whenever I give a book to someone it is always signed and personalized by the 'author'. I got away with this for a couple of years until someone got a book from a guy who had been dead for a while. Then they suddenly noticed the 'autographs' in all the books looked strangedly similar.

Isn't this all just a form of idolatry anyway?
