Lf: Lcd tv

i'm looking to buy a new TV 42"-46" LCD 120Hz preferably Samsung (just really like their monitors and other periferals over the years)

I didn't post in buy and sell since i'm looking a new one from somewhere with a warranty and i'm looking for opions and hopefully some good cheap places to get one other than the best buy and futureshops of the world

any ideas?

  • The 40" Samsung at Walmart is now $778. Sick. It was $1149 in May.
  • I got the 42" LCD Sanyo for 699.00 at Costco
  • how is the picture and quality on your Tvs? with PS3/Xbox360 or BlueRay etc

i'm getting hung up on all the response times and contrast ratio and refresh rates

i know beside eachother in the store they look different but who has 2 tvs beside eachother?

right now my baseline is 4ms response, 80000:1 + contrast and a 120hz

why? i'm not sure it really matters

  • This one is free if you can pick it up!

    Free TV on Craigslist
  • ^^ that's funny..I don't care who you are..(except the owner of the tv)

My lcd with the ps3/bluray is just dandy:)
  • If you're willing to drop a bit more..

The best picture I've ever seen ever is on the Samsung LED t.v.'s... that's why I have one.

    THIS IS MINE

  • I would have to agree there is a HUGE difference b/w the LED and the LCD and I can see spending the money on those...

but since they've hit the market all the LCD have dropped in price so I guess there isn't much noticeable difference in the LCD screens then?
  • PS3 + Panasonic 1080p 42" is beeeautiful. 15yr. old dolby surround amp needs upgrading though.

We should do a 'What's your HDTV system comprised of?' thread. Just a thought.

If anyone's interested, any information I've ever wanted about home theater, stereo, computer hardware stuff were answered at the Digital Home Canada website. They have a great forum there as well if you have questions. More than you'll ever want to know about HDTV, etc.
