When to gamble

At what point are you willing to risk the end of your tournament on a gamble? I remember Dave saying he didn't care about what the average stack was only what the blinds are in comparison to his stack. Does everyone agree? If so, at what point are you in enough trouble that you would call an all-in knowing you had only a 50/50 shot of winning? Thanks.

    I'd say somewhere between 5X-10X BB. If you get a good hand in late position I'd go in early. If not, I'd wait until I got closer to 5X.

    I generally wait until 8x-6x, unless it is nearer the end and I have a chance to make or move up on the final table by just waiting out another player. A lot of it really depends.

    I am always willing to take bigger risks during the bubble stage, because a lot of players tighten up at that stage just trying to advance into or further into the money.

    I always try and play for 1st these day which means taking risks, and some of those risks will mean that sometime you bust out of the bubble on the 50/50 shots.

    I hit the panic button at about 10x the BB. If the average stack is 10 x bb then I am less prone to gamble and will probably grind down to 6 x bb.
