  • This makes no sense to me -- poker rooms make a set income based on volume of hands/rake.
  • One of these players is a good friend of mine from the Kitchener area.

I can confirm he got the email stating that his account was being closed for winning too much. LOL.

Im gonna see if he'll send me the actual email.
  • Good, computer nits are terrible for poker. I wouldn't have imagined that a site would get away with this, but if they can remove the "viruses" I'm all for it.
  • I read the 2+2 thread, makes sense now

This is what the email seems to be saying as posted on several sites:

“If you are not already aware, iPoker will be implementing a new policy in the New Year which will categorize players depending upon certain criteria. The new policy will impose penalties on card rooms that in essence have a high proportion of winning players in relation to losing players.” “Regrettably, therefore, we are being forced to restrict a number of accounts in order to comply with the new policy and to avoid penalization by iPoker and it grieves me to inform you that we have no option for the time being other than to restrict the cash game stakes at which you play on Victor Chandler Poker.”
“In the meantime, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this action will cause but know that you can still play in tournaments and on any other of the Victor Chandler suite or products.”
  • wow....

and to top it all off they put the blame on the network. even if that is true they should really switch networks if they feel so badly about screwing the players

Yea, but switching networks is not an overnight thing. It takes time.
  • It all happened because specific skins were luring pro players with extremely high rakeback offers (60%+) and ipoker got pissed that these skins were cashing-out more than they were bringing into the network. Players can still switch skins and play on the network with a lower rakeback.
