I'll be heading back this year again....most likely for the week again, hopefully late June and I will be donating my 1500 again to one of NL tournaments and playing a few deepstack events. Have to back to Caesars to defend my "partial" title from last years megastack event lol.
Definitely looking forward to seeing our CPF members again down there during the WSOP as it is great to see friendly faces and/or putting names to faces from the board.
Not to sound like a complete boob, but what sites do you guys use to find the best flight/hotel deals for Detroit to Vegas? Doing some planning. I know "you sound like a complete boob", but hey, that's the way it is..

Most of the guys have flown with "Spirit Air". As for hotel, I'm sure you can just find something on hotwire/priceline/expedia.
I'm definitely planning to be there again this year, HOPEFULLY play in the ME if I can find a way to satellite in again. Otherwise if by early June I don't have a seat locked up, I might go down the last week of June instead and play one of the $1k or $1.5k liveament instead as I have to be back in Toronto for a wedding on Canada Day.

Bill, for you Spirit Air out of Detroit would definitely be best on price, no frills, you pay for checked luggage or drinks/food on board, but definitely cheaper than Pearson.. If you have an early am flight one of the park and sleep deals the night before are great too. As for hotels, do not book air/accomodation packages as that ties you down too much. As Wes said, book your stay through one of the discount sites or directly online with the hotels is the way to go. Make sure you know the cancellation policies since you want to take advantage if you find a better deal on accomodation closer to your travel date.

The Four Points Sheraton is nice if you are taking the little woman/gf as they tend to like something a little more upscale... Think it was like right around $100. with taxes for one nights accomodation plus 8 days parking..
I am absolutely going back down in 2010. A little early for me to set dates, but I am probably looking at a week around June 20 or something closer to the Main Event.
My last 3 visits I have gone down on my own; not sure if the wife will be joining me this time, which of course can impact my total available hours for poker... Need to start working on submitting my pre-clearance paperwork...

unless you plan on playing the main event, I always advise people to go during the early to middle part of the WSOP. it gets pretty dead at the RIO wsop once the main rolls around.
also...if you go right at the beginning...the UFC fan expo and UFC 114 going on.

I don't know if you saw earlier in this thread.. But I have a $1500 buy in that i'm probably going to want to get rid of.. I'm sure we could make a deal for it.. cost you less than $1500 for the one you want to buy into.. let me know.. we can chat about it... I'll probably only go down if I win my seat to the main event..
