I dont work for absolutepoker.com but I should!

I recently used the suggestion of this forum to open an account with absolutepoker.com and get my free $10 by simply writing the support@absolutepoker.com guy and asking for my free no deposit bonus. Within 1 hour my money was there and I began playing, I like free money! Anyway, that was two weeks ago and my $10.00 is now $522.00!! I began playing .25/50 and then played a few tourny's here and there. I finished 3rd in a larger tourny and won $116.00. Once I had gotten enough money (about $150) i began to play shorthanded 3/6 limit hold em, this site has recommended it many times. I again RECOMMEND it! I am up to $522 enough said. Anyone else have an experience like this?

No. You are just one lucky bastard :) Good job man 8)

I'm going to be beefing up the number of hours I play online @ UB ...so far have turned $75 into about $475, but that has only been playing perhaps 2 hours max/week
  • My guess is that if this forum's members start filling up the 3/6 shorthanded games, it might not be so easy to build my bankroll at that site. :)
  • Thanks guys, I must admit I have had a few lucky hands (hitting my kicker on the turn or river for two pair, hitting trips, flopping flushes type stuff). To be honest though I have been throwing my money around, entered into a $100.00 tourny and got beat out quickly when I had AQ vs. A9 suited (he hit his flush). I am enjoying the "free success", question is..when do i cash out? Does anyone think about playing poker full time as a profession as much as I do? I feel as though I could make more playing online then I can at work on a weekly basis, of course I can't loose money when I am at work.

  • it's crossed my mind to play online as supplemental income, but would never rely 100% on it (ie don't quit your dayjob)

In may, I will say that my schedule will allow for a LOT of online time so it should be interesting...
  • Poker Pages has a few really good articles in their article listings about what to do when you start thinking about going pro. I've always found that to be one of the best poker sites.
  • You'd probably get bored playing online poker full-time.

I agree with SuperMuncher. The articles at pokerpages have a few good tips about playing online.
  • I will check it out for sure, honestly I dont think I would get bored. I might get angry more then I do now though lol. Guys, I won't quit my day job. Sloth you sound an awful lot like my girlfriend, kind of a turn on actually ;) I just wonder how many people actually think about it seriously. I would like to give it a try for 6 months and see what happens. Only 30 more years till retirement woohoo!!

  • I just visited their website, and I didn't see anything advertising a free, no-deposit bonus...has it been discontinued?
  • I tried it a couple of hours ago and it worked fine.

Just make an account and email support@absolutepoker.com

I had the 10$ in my account within 10 minutes.
  • Is there any reason why we can't set up multiple accounts with different email addresses and get the bonus multiple times?

Yup. I would take a first guess that each new userid would need need to have been signed up from a different IP address.

also, lets say you sign up with your name and address (so when you cash out you can actuallly get your $$)

they aren't going to let that same name and address sign up again...at best, you could get friends/family to sign up and play under their names, but then cashing out would be in their names.

There are easier ways of getting free $$ to play with online, which I'll be getting more into soon.
  • You could try this. To combat people opening multiple accounts, they might check the IP addresses of the connections (you can probably get around this as long as you don't have a static IP), or there might be something in their client software to check for multiple accounts on a single computer.

This is probably one reason it's so rare to find these kind of bonuses with no deposit required.

Except that I didn't provide a name or address when I signed up, just a user ID and email address. I can edit my info to include my name an address if and when I ever want to cash out.

("Guest" above was me, by the way)
  • hrmmmm...username and email were all that were asked of you for the bonus? interesting indeed.
  • I got mine! Then I caught a run of cold cards...and now I'm pathetically trying to beat the 0.10/0.25 game. :(
  • Do you have to make a deposit before you can cash out your 520.00 ?
  • Yes apparantly I have to deposit minimum $25.00 before I can cash out my $558.00, i've won a bit since :)
  • I received my 10 bucks by emailing March 23rd and my roomate has it up to 100.
  • Interesting, is there a challenge in those words of yours? :) lol. Im up to $639.50 and coutning. Man if I loose this money I will feel like an idiot!! lol

  • Finished 1st out of 37 in a $5 multi, got some decent cards and played some of my best poker ever. Won $74, then found out I have to deposit $25 and wait a month to cash out....so I made the deposit. Am I a sucker or what? :)

    30 days to go...
  • Matt, I am in the same boat..have to wait 30 days after my $25 deposit. Hmmm, starting to loose money now. Down from $870 to $600, is there a conspiracy here?

  • So I finally cashed out at $850.00, I haven't been playing as much lately and thought it was smart to cash out rather then blow it when i'm not taking it seriously. $10 turned into $850.00= good enough for me. Hope your luck is a fruitful as mine was, unless your at the other end of my table.

  • I'm at about 270, can cash out in 2 weeks. Did you have any problems cashing out? Have you received the money yet?
  • well done Matt! I attempted to cash out on Friday and an alert appeared saying "your request for withdrawl will be reviewed, we will let you know when it is processed". Obviously I was a bit concerned so I wrote support@absolutepoker.com and got a reply saying that they review all withdrawl requests and they reserve the right to do so within 72hours. Today I am PATIENTLY waiting for them to tell me that my cheques is in fact, in the mail. I can only assume it is. It better be!

  • Ok so here we go...when i deposited my $25.00 i had $420.00 in my account, since then I have turned it into $880.00...due to the fact that It has not been 30 days since my original $25.00 deposit I cannot withdraw the entire amount ALTHOUGH I CAN withdraw anything that I had made since my initial deposit. So I can withdraw 880-420=$460. I need to wait a few more weeks to cash out the rest of my winnings. Any more questions? Even though this was a bit of a hassle, I would obviously have to say it was and IS worth it.

  • Right, I knew about that rule and I think I have something like 12 days left until I can cash out the whole thing. I only had about $70 in there when I made my deposit so I'm going to wait to cash it all out. Won a couple more $5 SnG's today so now I'm up to $330...
  • I let some guys in on this the other night at the KW friday game but thought I would update some others (ie. Matt) that I have cashed out $400.00 without a hitch and have built the remainder of my account up to $1575.00 US, so I have turned my original free $10 bonus plus my $25.00 deposit into a total of $1975.00 USD. I was kidding with my girlfriend today that once I get to a million I'll write a book "How I turned $10 into 1 Million playing Poker". Perhaps my luck is going to my head.

  • Great going stp,

Just some twisted thoughts to get you looking at it from a few different angles. Not intended as criticism, or knowledgeable advice. lol Take it for what it's worth.

Sounds like you are doing something right. Play your game, keep taking out chunks of cash, and don't listen to those little voices anymore. lol The ones telling you about fame and fortune (and books). That's just your mind messing with you. Not saying you can't do it, just saying maybe wait 10 years or so. Of course if the little voices are saying, "I think he caught the flush", then it's up to you there. lol And if you write that book in 10 years, let us know, I'll probably buy it.

Just try to keep thinking the way you did when you started. It's how you got to where you are now. I'd recommend keeping your account balance at an even amount. As you make gains, cash out that extra amount. If you keep your account at say, $500, that's more than enough to enter all the stuff you want to. Enjoy the rest. Also, online casinos aren't banks. No banking rules apply to them either. (ie:deposits not guaranteed/insured) I don't think I'd want to leave larger amounts in their hands for too long. Let them keep $500 for you, and let your bank look after the rest in a "seperate" savings account.

    And congrats on the wins.

PS, wives and girlfriends frequently seem to think that "being your conscience" is in their job description. lol Just nod and smile, and let them keep thinking that. lol They do mean well. Or to put it another way, "the bed is warmer than the couch." lmao

PPS, that PS just became my new sig. lol
  • Thank you for your comments. I do have a method to my madness and it is working well for me. You did get me thinking about keeping too much money in the account though and how that can be somewhat unsafe. I cashed out another 600 after reading your post  I am sure that others have had better results then me playing online, the only reason for my original post was to let people know about the $10 bonus and how it is possible to turn it into a huge profit. Thanks for the well wishes.
