Villain was clearly willing to spew chips with K10. Was he on tilt or just an awful player?

It was KJ, and he turned the Nuts. EndlessJ is actually a strong villain, and ended up shipping the 22K for first. This hand was with 8 left (6max). Top 3 were all 5 figs so it was a pretty expensive turn card imo. I have no issues with how he played the hand.

He made a standard Cbet and binked his card. I also think I played the hand pretty well. I just happened to have the nut instead of the nut nut.
  • Yeah it was a good and pretty standard line from Wetts this late in the tourney...as mentioned, just this time villain binked his gutter
  • Am I the only one here who thinks you should raise 75% of the time to 18K with AA preflop and 50% of the time raise 60% pot with top set on a rainbow slightly connected board? How are you perceived by the other players? I raise with crap so I need to raise with my good hands to balance my range.

100% agree if its a range balancer. I am tighty whitey at this table. I think I was like 15/13 or something redic like that for 6max.

The issue was that it was prob the most difficult final 12 (da_pro, mossified, ryanghall (props for the 9K btw), endless, bigdog, blizair, Jordan Morgan, STCATH) in terms of aggroness. So I kind of let them bet for me from about 40 down.

BTW I absolutely think endless fires on multiple streets even if he misses there.
  • Yeah he barrels missed turn a good amt of the time imo

    That's a really tough final 12!!!

I'm not sure that playing 15/13 will be (most) profitable against a lineup like that. I usually play much weaker fields, but I would think they would just not give you action without hands that beat you in big pots if you're playing 15/13.

What's your 3 bet range vs under the gun raisers? 0?

If you're 15/13 then you're 3 bet range vs UTG would be ... I'm guessing pretty small?

Depends I guess. I would basically 3bet ship whenever I was good which is more profitable I think than opening alot of pots marginally and have to fold to the 3bets (which Im pretty sure was a good % of the time).

+ I was super in awe of how these guys play, so I just sit back and enjoy the fireworks.
  • ^^^^ lol yeah, (from the rail) I had a note on almost every player there as an MTT reg......it was such an aggro 3bet/4bet fest, pretty sick.

// Note I'm not an expert on this so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Assuming an 180K stack with the blinds/ante above...(1700/3400/400)

    1.

3 bet shipping when people are opening to 7700 looks awkward...

    2.
If you're pretty sure you're good and ....

If you're getting 3 bet light then try 4 bet small, not folding.

For example, you raise to 7700, you get 3 bet to 22000,
try small 4 betting to 50K.
  • LOL. No 3bet, not 3 bet overshoving. My bad. I would basically look for good spots to exploit my image:

I am not overly comfortable 4betting (relatively) light. It is a part of my game I am not too comfortable with.

That said, I think Ive found a fairly successful TAG niche. I dont think I would play a LAG style very well, I'll leave that to you and the 5/5ers.
  • Wetts, I definitely wouldn't feel bad about calling w/ top set on the flop; that's totally fine (although so is raising). I certainly would not call preflop OOP though, especially against a great player like endlessJ. You have to 3bet that.

The 2nd AA hand u had where u reraised and they both folded I would have reraised a bit smaller, but meh w/e. Congrats on getting deep.

    I got KK < A7'ed aipf for like a billion chips 3 handed :(
  • BTW when listing the most aggro players in the final 12, you forgot to list the most aggro of them all (by far) darrenelias
