thank you Jamie Gold

I watched en episode of High Stakes Poker last night and learned a little lesson from Jamie Gold who was card dead for most of the hour. The lesson was.... "quit whinning about the cards you're getting" lol

There have been games where I have done the same thing, cry, bitch and laugh facetiously at the hands I'm getting but not until I watched Jamie do the same thing, did I realize how annoying and pathetic it makes you look. Not only that, people just don't give a shit. Sure, a complaint or two is forgivable and natural, everyone wants to express frustration but to go on and on about it is now out of the question for me.

Thanks Jamie

  • Jamie Gold is a nice guys, his poker skills and talent... debatable.
  • Good players like Mr. Ivey can do it without the cards....
  • nothing worse IMO.......always want to slap those guys upside the head.....but, on the other hand, love'em at my table......easy to take their money, just keep saying, 'damn, that sucks', as you keep raising their blinds
  • Jamie Gold is the most annoying poker player I have ever seen. If you were to sew his lips shut with barbed wire he'd still find some way of annoying me.

Nice guy or not, he whines incessantly and cries for attention at the table every chance he gets. I was watching HSP a while back. He'd say something and if nobody responded he'd just repeat himself again and again until someone noticed him like a child crying for attention. "Mom! Look! Look at me, I'm doin' sumthin'! Mom! Look! Look!"

Errr, or maybe I'm just grumpy this morning...

    Yeah, this is very true.

Nothing wrong with playing tight but complaining about the quality of cards makes it really obvious you are waiting for premiums, and will get you no action when you do raise (which can work to your advantage but not if you are truly only playing premiums).
