I always sing along to that song when I hear it.
Try is Blue Rodeo's first and best hit song... Just awesome.

Yazoo's version was too synthy for me and it sounds better with male vocals imo. Also never forgave Vince Clarke for leaving Depeche Mode....until he started Erasure.

I respect your right to disagree but the Flying Pickets covered the song when it was less than 2 years old and took it higher up the charts.

I get what you are saying about the Flying Pickets, But i rarely find a cover/re-make that i think is better then the original. That's the good thing about music, it's open to everyones taste.

Secondly, I totally misunderstood the point of the thread when I first read it as I didn't bother to listen to the tunes Kristy posted (sorry) and just assumed it was songs that you couldn't help but sing along to or enjoyed for some unknown reason; thus the first song and the second song. If we're just posting awesome songs from the 80's that are somewhat ballady, I can play along. Europe -The Final Countdown Robert Palmer - Simply Irresistable and the greatest montage song of the entire decade!!! Joe Esposito - You're The Best I believe that's called a win
