WSOP Final Table Press Release

2009 WSOP Final Winner too close to call: Moon and Buchman joint favorites to walk away with the title

Friday, 06 November 2009

David Moon goes to the final table of the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) as chip leader and favorite in the Betfair betting stakes. Along with Eric Buchman, they are both +430 favorites to walk away with the bracelet and $8.5 million dollar first prize. Phil Ivey, although seventh in chips, is third favorite at +580 on Betfair to win the WSOP Title.

Nearly £50,000 has been matched on the Betfair market so far with more anticipated before they kick off tomorrow.

“Although Moon is the clear chip leader in the event, this hasn’t translated into him being an out an out favorite in the betting market. Half of all the bets on Betfair have been on experienced pro Phil Ivey who I am sure will be pushing hard to get another bracelet this weekend” commented Richard Bloch, Head of International PR for Betfair.

Who cares how they put his name, he'll be forgotten in 2 weeks anyways.
  • I wonder if you can't bet on their site that David Moon doesn't even finish in the top 10?

Hard to take a betting co. serious if they can't get the name of the players correct...

As much as I am liking Moon's straight forward play and his attitude.. I don't see his run holding up for much longer..he isn't always going to get the plate handed to him..he is actually going to have to work at the final table methinks...
  • Getting smacked with the deck have led to a couple of guys winning *cough Jerry Yang/Jamie Gold*. But it's going to be a mine-field out there as there are a couple of pretty good players on top of Ivey and Schulman
  • I better say something before l'il Phil chimes in.

"Those are Ivey's chips, the rest of the table is just playing with 'em"
    <<channeling ends>>

If Ivey wins a hand that Moon didn't play...did it really happen?

    I think not
  • My first thoughts was Darvin Moon was just one of those guys with a big stack that would fall through before final 18. After seeing him in a couple of the episodes with Antonio, he has a pretty solid attitude, and game play.. obviously with the luck of the cards hes been getting.
After seeing him knock Kopp off, how he is questioning Kopp's play that late in the game makes me think he is just really cocky.

    Mr.Moon will come in 3rd I think.

ya but moon can't fold every hand headsup;)
  • Moon will finish no higher than fifth, as he is my new favourite player. That bum Ivey has NO chance this year.

    None.

    Not a glimmer of hope.

He is pretty good, though . . . isn't he?

pokernews is doing live reporting presented by pokerstars, what it will all be i am not sure.

Also for anyone who does not want to know the results then don't view this thread as I along with a few others prob will be cheering and talking about the action as it happens.

I was going to redeposit on stars and go at it on the poker today but only a few hours away from the final table so i guess that is not happening, battle of the planets celebration starts tomorrow anyway so will see if i can get into that.
  • ooops i mean you should not view this thread if you don't want to know the results, we prob should go with this one right?
