Best Casino in Atlantic City for Tournaments and Cash Games

I've been to Atlantic City before, but it was long before I started playing poker.

I wanted to hear people's recomendations on the best casino I should play at for tournaments and for cash games (you can feel free to mention different casino's for cash vs. tournament play). For cash I play primarily 1/2 NL and tournaments I am open for the buyins but prefer NL freeze out with good structures. Also, if there is any casino that will not tax me for tournaments winnings under $5,000 that is a MAJOR plus.

Thank you for your insight!

    Thank you!

I will be there from Nov 7-Nov 10. Looks like I am going to play in the USPC (United States Poker Championship) at the Taj. You are only taxed if your prize money is greater than $5000 right?

That is the way I understand it, the last time I was there I cashed at the Showboat for $800. something and there was no withholding. Best to ask first though.
  • I highly recommend the Borgata for cash games. They have 85 tables and it is one of the nicest card rooms I have ever seen.
  • I also believe that amount just went up from $5000 to $30000 without being taxed.

Now where did you get that info? source? There has been lots of discussion around Vegas poker forums on the limit and consensus is it is $5K, but some places, ie Seneca, Mirage are taxing any winnings from Canadians.
