Best day / time of day to play.....

Fallsview Casino -

I have no illusions of grandeur but I have come into some money recently and want to try playing poker as a part-time job. I have been there on several occasions, mostly on Friday and Saturday nights and have done pretty well. Most of my sessions have been winning ones. But I was limited by my bankroll as to how often I could play.

I know there are some very fishy players that play the $2/$5 NL . But there are some solid regs that play as well. I am looking for the best day(s) to play with the most fish.

  • Far be it from me to shatter anyone's illusions, but do you know how to make a $1,000,000.00 playing poker?

Start with $5,000,000.00 . . . at least, for most people.

    good luck
  • Thanks Milo. I know that there are many posts on many different forums of people that start by saying, " I want to turn pro, 'cause I got mad skillz, 'cause I won my first three $5 SNGs."

I have been playing for 5 years now, only the last year seriously. But my Bankroll has never been big enough to sustain the swings. I'd get an extra $500 every so often and go to Niagara, sometimes I'd come home with $1000, best night was $2400, and sometimes I'd go home broke. The problem is, on the nights I'd come home with money, there was always something else to spend the money on instead of building a bankroll.

    Any advice is aways appreciated.
  • to answer your question, I would think weekends would be the best time when the tourist factor is at its highest (Friday PM, Sat PM and Sunday morning to afternoon). I don't think Niagara is too busy this time of year during the week but weekends are prime. I would try to get on a table around 6pm and plan to play until the early morning. By getting on a table early, you avoid the long wait times (sometimes in excess of three hours) and can take the time to find a table you like. I wouldn't worry about the regulars. After a few visits, they are easy to spot. Most regulars would also be playing during these times where there are more casual players at the tables. Hope that helps.
  • The best time i found is about 4 AM Sat , lots big stacks and tired or drunk peps.

I agree completely. This is why I enjoy playing at the BCC early in the day. I love playing against the nits. I find that I usually can win a lot of small pots throughout the day that add up to a nice profit after 6-8 hrs of play.
