I apologize for bumping the thread without anything to offer you but this got me to thinking. I was watching the game last night and it was mentioned that one of the Rangers defense men had 70 tickets for friends and family to attend the game. My question is, how is that possible? Why do we fans find it nearly impossible to get a ticket and yet somehow there was 70 available for one person? Good luck with the find. I got a season ticket holder to give up two tickets for the Detroit game on 11/7 and I can't even go to it, they are for 2 visiting relatives of ours from the UK :-(
  • Why doesn't Hamilton have an NHL team?

Because then Toronto would want one too...

    LOL at the leafs

I believe that each player is entitled to a certain number of tickets per game and reserve more when they have a group. I'm sure the Rangers player made a request well in advance.

Frosty, good luck finding tickets at cost.

They will also trade with other players for their unused tix.

He should be getting them below cost at this point :)
  • Maybe one day the wife will take an interest in a PROFESSIONAL hockey team . . .

There was an article in Fridays? Star that talked about how scalpers aren't getting face value for the higher tickets. They don't expect that to continue during the rest of the season. Maybe able to still get tickets at some of the online places for weaker teams. Apparently ticketmaster is still selling tickets to some games...so face would be possible I think. Can't see them lasting long.
