Question about Micro Tournaments
Currently, I play the freeroll satellite tournaments on Pokerstars.com, and so far I've won 3 tickets, one in NL 2-7 single draw and two in NL 5-card draw.
Well, I've played the NL Hold'em satellites, and I've noticed that hundreds of players go all-in on the first hand, out of 9000. Is this what I can expect from micro tournaments?

Yep. Happens all the time. Usually the winners of those hands piss away all their chips after a few levels.
Just play a normal game and you'll get paid when you have the nuts.
Johnnie, your advice is spectacularly wrong.
OP
First: When in Rome...If 8 players are all-in in front of you: you're a bad player if you're folding most hands.
Second: When you sign up for a huge field MTT sat the prizes are very top heavy..and at as low a buy in as the one you're discussing there is no value in nut-peddling, doing so will have you wasting hours and then busting out 1500th for nothing.
Realistically playing these even well is absurd..it'll take you 10hrs to win it at least and for what prize? then factor in all the hours spent on bust outs and you've got a per hour mexican orphans would sneer at.
So have some fun and delight in shoving 7-2s and hitting your flush.
I often try to explain all these points to a buddy of mine who plays these type of games all the time. I've never been able to put it into words as well as you just did though! Especially the point about playing them in the first place. Totally agree.

I'm going to say, Do as I say not as I did.
I withdrew all my online funds just before Neteller went south.
Rather than redeposit, I built my bankroll from nothing by playing freerolls and then playing .01/02, etc ...
I caught fire in a bottle and cashed in my first 3 freerolls, then I ran godlike at 50bb/100 at .01/.02 ...
Despite this ...
I wish I just deposited a roll rather than wasting time playing such small stakes.
And yes, Playing an these stakes in a game theory correct way doesn't make sense if your time is worth more than a Mexican orphan's.
There are some freerolls that if you beat 5000 players you get a $30 ticket to another tournament ... Fugetdaboudit....
