XBOX- Texas Holdem

Im not sure how many people on this forum play video games, and if they do, I am sure they will be playing Halo 2, which is awesome, but I noticed in the store the other day that XBOX has come out with Bicycle Casino- Texas Holem. It looked like it had good graphics, and it was on XBOX LIVE (online).

Just wondering if anyone has seen/heard/played the game.

  • I play the video games. I'd like to hear more...a valuable thread. ;)
  • I haven't tried this one myself, but Bicycle Casino got some poor reviews on the various game review sites:

(No actual GameSpot review, but there are a couple of links to reviews.)

Another poker title, "World Championship Poker" is scheduled to come out for Xbox next week (Nov. 30).

(I believe this one is already released on PS2 and GBA.)

And, yes, I've had the Halo theme song going through my head for days. ;)

  • The game is fun for just sitting around when you have absolutely nothing else to do, actually even then it is not that much fun. The only thing I really like about it is that you get to play games that you normally wouldn't have the opp. to play, like Razz. I give it 1/10. Of course, I have not used the online options so I cannot comment on that. I would not buy this game.

  • i can play poker for free.... why would i buy a video game to play it?

it'd be just like playing for play money on your computer
  • There's a lot of hype around the Nintendo DS right now and its back-ordered everywhere.

It ocured to me that i would buy one a a heart-beat if any online poker site partnered with someone and created a 'poker cartridge'

The unit has 802.11b wireless capabilities. So I could just sit on my couch with this nice little thing and tap commands on the touch screen with my stylus while the table was shown on the upper screen.

However, I think to distribute cartridges you need Nintendo licensing, and your not likely to get it if its for gambling.

I'd buy a PocketPC too if one of the sites would release a poker client for it so that I could play online with a pocket-sized device. Pokerroom.com has a no-download java interface and I tried usingn that on a PocketPC without any luck.

I realize these small-screen devices would limit you to 1 table at a time. Right now, I usually play on a laptop in my living room while watching some TV or a movie or something - but the laptop is big enough for mee to consider it immobile anyways.

Has anyone ever been able to use a small-screen device for playing online poker? I realize a tablet PC would be a little more ideal than a laptop, but they're too expensive for me.
  • i use an S-video connection to my TV sometimes and use my wireless mouse from my bed... :D

My girlfriend is pretty understanding about my time spent playing poker, but somehow I think if I started playing poker in bed, it might be my last time in that bed. :)

Scotty you never stop amazing me! How you get all this information. I am in awe!

Trick to playing Halo 2, stop playing 1 hour before bed. Otherwise you stay up thinking of the game for the next two hours. Could not sleep for the first 3 days after it was out

Good thinking... I try to do the same for poker too. In either case, you need to give the adrenaline enough time to wear off.
