Las Vegas Report
This is a kind of a late report. Actually took the megabus to Buffalo airport then had a flight to Las Vegas. Stayed at Excalibur and they upgraded our room cause they ran out of rooms. Whatever, it was ok. But I was paying $24 a night and like $60 for the weekend days. Stayed their for 5 nights.
I was with my girlfriend, so I only played at night and the early morning, which really is the optimum times to play. So just played at Excalibur, which had a couple of tables at peak hours really and cash game broke up by the time 9am tournament started.
So I played my first tournament, $25 buy-in for 2000 chips and $10 top-up for 1000 chips, which I did. This is a 40 person tournament, also with one rebuy. I actually finished 4th and just in the money taking $98. Not bad not bad, seeing how I could never really get on a run and have a good stack most of the time because I'd win one, then get sucked out one.
I liked playing at Excalibur $1/$2NL, they had this wheel that you get to spin if you have aces full or higher, or if you get your aces cracked. I got to spin the wheel twice at my stay and won I think $45 from the wheel.
So yeah, people playing at Excalibur are not looking for games, but really are just in the area and are wanting to gamble, so the game is real easy and I was up quite a bit the first 5 days.
The last couple of days, stayed at MGM. Free buffet with the stay. I found the game at MGM to be a lot harder. So why do people playing $1/$2 look for the harder games at the big casinos like Bellagio. Ionno.
Overall, a pretty good trip, up a couple hundred. Would be up more if I didn't play tables games, but, whatever.
