Video: Women's world poker open

Ive watched most of this tournament now and I'd like to recommend it to low - middle limit tournament players. The female commentator is really smart, and nice to listen to. Even though everything she says might not be perfect she covers a lot of ABC poker including stacksizes and things like raising into reship stacks, a lot of things that I've had to learn from different places or just slowly figure out myself.

  • I am not sure I like her line of thinking... Ace high flop, two spades..utg bets with A7..and AQ raises...I like that. Announcer doesn't. The AQ has to price out a flush draw no?
  • I thought about that one too but I don't think I mind calling with AQ. The ace of spades blocks some flushdraws and even if her opponent has the draw it's not terrible to let her peel if she might bluff on the turn. Also, if her opponent has the type of hand she has she might put AQ girl on a draw and semibluff the turn or the river giving her value she won't get by raising.

If worst comes to worst I guess she could also fold if a spade hits and her read tells her she's behind. Calling might up the variance just a little bit, but I think she should call if she thinks she can handle it.

(ofc that's just my opinion, not sure it's optimal but my instincts tell me it's a good line ^^' )

... No... you don't have to raise with AQo

Listen to annette... I like her commentary.
  • I am curious if the commentary would be different if Vigezzi held 2 spades. For example 10sJs..or QsKs. 6 handed the raise would/could be standard...the cbet would be standard with the flush draw.. AQo should let them draw still?

Again, Listen to Annette's commentary ...

If you raise make it 26K, you end up being (almost) pot committed and only getting action from better hands.

You don't want to end up playing a big hand with AQ here.

If you raise you end up playing a big pot if you get called.

Yes you're not too happy about letting the flush draw get there, but for you to lose to the flush a) He has to be on the flush and b) He has to hit the flush... That's possible but unlikely that both those things will take place. If you make the pot too big for your hand then you will 100% be playing a pot too big for your 1 pair hand.

This makes more sense now...the likelihood of the flush draw isn't enough to warrant worrying about it...fair enough.
