September CPT Events in Ontario. Blue Water Classic....

Besides the Great Blue Heron $550 sell out, looks like there is an $1100 on the 14th and then a $550 Omaha Hi Limit game all with 110 player caps.

Gotta say I find the OLG sites tricky to navigate but if I land on the right one that looks like the last one......

Point Edward Charity Casino

Moving along, it seems there a $150+20 NL on Wednesday the 23rd. 5000 chips to start, 30 minute levels. 4:00PM start time.

Also a $300+35 (+30 for winners circle) on the 24th with 6000 starting chips, capped at 120 players. The game begins at 4:00PM and features 30 minute levels.

This is then followed by a 2 days of $600+70 play with the top 10% (12 or less from each day) advancing to the finals. These begin at 4:00 pm on the 25th and 26th, 30 minute levels with the finals playing out on the Sunday. Participants get 8000 chips to start.

Someone have a laymans version of the points prize pool?

I gather they take 5% of the overall prize pool for all the events and divide it to the top five overall players in points established over the series, with points being based on field and buyin size???

  • For all those who wanted to play at this week's CPT events at Point Edward Casino, there are just four seats left for Thursday, two for Saturday and there is a waiting list for Wednesday. There are also seats left for tomorrow's MTT satellite. Unfortunately for me, I won't be playing and had to forfeit my registration fees.

Yes, you basically get one point for every place you last longer. Just like the normally correct poker play can get corrupted during a tournament bubble, I had to read the rules so I can figure out how much to play "incorrectly" :o in order to maximize $EV and make it to the money in both the final table and the points prize pool, while targeting other players in the points race.

uhhhmmmmm.......that's very -EV...if there's a waiting list, can't you sell these for profit, or at least break even?
  • Unlike the OLG's booze expenses, player administration fees are non-refundable. :-\ OLG poker tournament registrations are non-transferable.

Damn, that sucks. Seats are transferrable out here.

Guess you'll have to come play at the Yellowhead instead http://www.pokerforum.ca/f7/2008-tournaments-canada-16608/
