(High end) Sports Legend Challenge at Atlantis.

This looks like some rock star type fun!

Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahama's, TV coverage, up to 10 million up for grabs.

September 14th to 17th

25 Sports celebrities, 25 poker a variety of casino events (not just poker), golf, poker seminars and much more.

PokerNews - SPORTS LEGENDS CHALLENGE

Anyone looking to rub shoulders with some world class sports and poker players can call 404 869 5000.

Pretty decent price tag considering all that is included. They send an e-mail if you ask that shows how you can apply your credits. Support wasn't pushy and quite nice according to my
wife who called and is now placing demands on me.......

Looks like it took alot to put together and would be a once in a lifetime vacation for sure.

  • Sounds super cool but some shit doesn't add up. Daily sngs, well if they put one pro per table, 25 poker pros and 25 Sports pros, that is 450 Joes that get to play with ONE pro. But full entry is 2100 Joes so I guess the others just get to pick their nose that day.
  • This got "postponed", more info on what comes out of it. Intresting disscusions on several threads, back with more info.

Was it due to lack of interest? Seems many of the higher priced trips/buyins are hurting right about now.
  • Seems to me the numbers were not there...great blog topic. Lack of dead money for the pros, lack of disposable income for the big fish and rec players.

Medium events should be capping with players, turnout way down Everywhere.

More chips, longer blinds, exotic locations, holiday destinations....nothing seems to be boosting numbers since WSOP.

Economy tanked early in the year, belts tightened. The blog should be better, lol.

    Back soon.
  • Yeah agreed. There are just too many tours and options out there and its thinning out the fields. The higher buyin events are taking it on the chin at the moment. Borgata WPT lowered their main event buyin to $3500 which IMO is the right move, it brings out the players that want to play a WPT event but don't have the 10K.
  • I've always wanted to go to Atlantis... that hotel looks amazing and everyone I know that has gone there has said its one of the nicest places they have been.
  • Nassau (well New Providence Island as the locals will tell you) is an awesome place. The diving is incredible and the Bahama Divers shop is just across the bridge from the tiny island that atlantis is on. If you go to the other side of the big island there is a shop that will take you on an amazing shark dive. It's called stuart Coves and they have been on Shark week programs and was the set for the update of the movie Flipper.

If you go, I suggest going for dinner at Arawak Key, known locally as the Fish Fry. About 20 different restaurants right on an inlet from the ocean which has the freshest seafood you can get without eating underwater. Conch salad is the specialty.

If you go to the casino, stay away from the blackjack unless you know how to change strategy for the "no hole card" euro style of dealing. Haven't played poker there as I wasn't into it when I was there.
  • Atlantis was a selling feature for me, it is definetly on my list of places I must vist, like Monte Carlo.

Doesn't sound like it will be rescheduled there though.

I am hearing Atlantic City, which of course would be fun for me to see but not the couples vacation that was luring me.

On the flip side the price tag should drop and it would still be cool if the activities and pros stay intact.
