If you're typing while having sex.....you're doing it wrong.
  • Yeah I'm in for this...been too long! WOOHOO!
  • Whats Chaos poker again ?

You get some weird hand. You roll the dice. The dice fuck you over. You rebuy. Repeat 10-40 times.

    btw I'm in. :D
  • Sign me up, please.
  • We're up to 9-10, at the moment.

As a reminder, here are the rules for this variant. We'll likely make it a $10 tournament, with one optional $10 re-buy in the first 4 levels if you bust out.

I thought I had a more recent rule set, but I can't find any of my old threads that announced Chaos tournaments. :(

Chaos hold'em is played like a normal tournament, starting with the structure of a regular No-Limit Hold'em tournament.

Before the players post blinds and antes for the hand, the dealer rolls a d100 (can be done with two ten sided dice) and some additional effect is added to the game for this hand, after consulting the table below. Most effects will only last for the hand being played. To keep the game moving, the cutoff (or an eliminated player) will read the result while the dealer deals.

If NEW GAME is rolled, then players then roll a d10 and consult the NEW GAME section. The New games is played for a single hand, using the adjusted blinds, limits and/or antes listed below.

The JACKPOT is a common pool of chips added to by each table in play. (ie. There's only one jackpot in play for the whole tournament.) The tournament can end with chips still left in the jackpot.

If any rule causes you to bust, before the cards are dealt, you get one SB for that hand. If a rule causes you to bust after the hand has finished, you also get one SB for the next hand.
  • Is this it?

    CHAOS HOLD'EM - $2 Re-Buy

Chaos hold'em is played like a normal tournament, starting with the structure of a regular No-Limit Hold'em tournament. $2 gets you $1,500 chips, you may spend $2 to re-buy for $1,500 if you bust out in the first three levels, and there is a one-time $2 add-on for $2,000 chips at the end of level three.

Before the players post blinds and antes for the hand, the dealer rolls a d100 (can be done with two ten sided dice) and some additional effect is added to the game for this hand, after consulting the table below. Most effects will only last for the hand being played. To keep the game moving, the cutoff (or an eliminated player) will roll the dice and read the result while the dealer shuffles.

If NEW GAME is rolled, then players then roll a d10 and consult the NEW GAME section. The New games is played for a single hand, using the adjust blinds, limits and/or antes listed below.

The JACKPOT is a common pool of chips added to by each table in play. (ie. There's only one jackpot in play for the whole tournament.) The tournament can end with chips still left in the jackpot. The tournament starts with $3,000 chips in it.

If any rule causes you to bust, before the cards are dealt, you get one SB. If a rule causes you to bust after the hand has finished, you also get one SB.

If you bust out and are in a "Dead" position (SB or button), you stay in your seat and, if given chips due to a roll, you're back in!! (This will not happen when moving from 3 players remaining to 2)

    THE ROLLS

    =========
    01: NEW GAME
02: EVeryone limps in! Deal the flop and start the hand with post-flop betting.
03: The dealer must muck his cards and put 2BB into the pot. The dealer splits the pot with the winner of the hand

    11: NEW GAME
12: All hole cards are played face up this turn.

14: JACKPOT: Each player at this table adds 1BB to it.
15: Before the flop, turn or river is dealt, but after betting, any player still in the hand may draw 1 or 2 cards or stand pat.

22: Everyone at the table gets 1BB from the bank!
23: This hand has one more street and an additional round of betting.

25: The dealer names a rank. For each rank that appears on the board, all other players give the dealer one chip of the smallest denomination in play.
26: For this hand, all suits are considered hearts.

46: Instead of Hold'em, all players play a round of blackjack. You act as the bank. Standard blackjack rules apply. Bets must be between 1BB and 4BB

80: Switch positions (but not chip stacks) with the UTG player. That player is the dealer this hand.
    81: NEW GAME

    88: Absolutely nothing unusual happens.

93: The only bet that may be made is to bet or call 1BB on each street.
94: If the hand goes to show down, roll a d10 after the river is dealt. If the result is even, discard and re-deal the board.
95: If you don't like the flop, turn or river, you may re-deal each once, immediately after it's dealt.
96: Pick any player. You are heads up with them this hand. You are the dealer (and hence, the small blind)
97: After the holes cards are dealt. All players take a look at them, then pass their hand once spot to the left.
98: Ignore this roll and roll twice more.
99: Half-JACKPOT WINNER!! Win half the jackpot. No need to re-seed.
00: JACKPOT WINNER!!!! Re-seed the Jackpot with 5BB's or $3,000 (which is more) from the bank.

1 rebuy? I think we will run out of players before the end of the rebuy period.
  • WOW! I see where the term "Chaos" fits in.

Wish I could make this. May try to clear my schedule tomorrow. Can I get a tent. spot?

    +1

I'd rather see unlimited rebuys for $2 or $5
  • There it is. Found one of my old email messages with the rules I came up with, after the post Johnnie found. I'm good for the $2 unl. re-buy also, so what the hell!! LET'S DO EET!

    CHAOS HOLD'EM - $2 Re-Buy

Chaos hold'em is played like a normal tournament, starting with the
    structure of a regular No-Limit Hold'em tournament. $2 gets you $1,500
chips, you may spend $2 to re-buy for $1,500 if you bust out in the
first three levels, and there is a one-time $2 add-on for $2,000 chips
at the end of level three.

Before the players post blinds and antes for the hand, the dealer
rolls a d100 (can be done with two ten sided dice) and some additional
effect is added to the game for this hand, after consulting the table
below. Most effects will only last for the hand being played. To keep
the game moving, the cutoff (or an eliminated player) will read the result while the dealer shuffles.

If NEW GAME is rolled, then players then roll a d10 and consult the
NEW GAME section. The New games is played for a single hand, using the
adjust blinds, limits and/or antes listed below.

The JACKPOT is a common pool of chips added to by each table in play.
(ie. There's only one jackpot in play for the whole tournament.) The
tournament can end with chips still left in the jackpot. The

If any rule causes you to bust, before the cards are dealt, you get
one SB. If a rule causes you to bust after the hand has finished, you
    also get one SB.

If you bust out and are in a "Dead" position (SB or button), you stay
in your seat and, if given chips due to a roll, you're back in!! (This
will not happen when moving from 3 players remaining to 2)
  • Sure why not. Count me in.
  • Also.. The list of rolls that Johnnie has is an older list, so the list of rolls may change a bit between now and tomorrow.
  • Fuck..I might not be making the trek into KW anymore tomorrow. I will text one of you donkeys if I can make it. But for now count me out - FUCK
  • I will try to make it down.
