Brantford vs Blue Heron Info
Hi all,
Live out west but planning a trip to the GTA for a week to 10 days mainly for poker but with a little touristy activity (Jays game) thrown in. Only enjoy limit poker, mostly at the 10-20 or 5-10 level. Have narrowed down my main playing options as Brantford and Blue Heron in Port Perry.
Thinking of basing my stay in the Brantford area due to the closer availability of hotels and more direct access to downtown TO. However would like to get some feedback about which casino people prefer based on the quality of games (looser the better), quality of players (average number or rocks/grinders per table), wait times, overall comfort level, player treatment, rake, bad beats jackpots (believe only Heron has), etc.
Also, there apears to be a number of small, locally owned motels on the east side of Brantford. I pretty much only need a bed, a shower, I/T access, and a TV so the idea of saving $30-$40/night versus the chain hotels is appealing but not at the risk of security, bed bugs, etc. Are some of them ok or basically fleabag city and I should stick to the Days Inn or Quality Inn?
Thanks in advance. Any feedback is appreciated.

maybe 2-3 semi-decent players and always at least 1 "I have 2 cards so I cap it from the SB" type player. Most are regs there, but they are still bad.
Wait times can be bad, but you can call ahead (519) 757-3306 and you have 90 minutes iirc to arrive and report to the poker room.
When you heading this way?
+1
And if you play for 3 hrs before the CNE opens they will give you parking/entry pass for the entire cne.
Thanks for the headsup on the CNE casino. Have considered it and maybe visiting around Labour Day. But as good as the games sound, have read some less than positive things about the atmosphere, the dealers, the rake, the wait lists, etc.; and the idea of fighting downtown traffic, crowds, or taking public transportation everyday is not that appealing. I often play 12-16 hours/day so it's nice to take a few hours break for a power nap without it having to be a big time waster back and forth to the hotel.
So would appreciate getting some more feedback on if there are any significant differences in the games and atmosphere between Brantford and Blue Heron.
Thank you. Jazz
