  • What's the buy-in? (I'm not currently at home, so I can't check myself)

    oops, I can't read
  • Nice deal! Don't forget we have a 100% bonus with 25% instant also for 888:

Pacific Poker Review - SPECIAL Instant Promo Code for Pacific Poker
  • The 100 side bets for last longer have begun..
  • Just missed this... 13 players in total, so one of them is taking down a $4500 CPT package to Vegas.

I have not read into the details; I wonder if this package is transferable?
  • Good luck jontm. I think I was playing at your table.
  • Damn, $1900 overlay. Looks like some German took 1st. There will be another one on the 16th of August for those interested.
  • No, I wasn't playing, a friend was. I had a Big Slick Poker Tour event to run tonight. Too big an online game for me, but I knew some of the players like Blondefish and the other tough ones here would love that overlay, so huge!

That's because 888 still has not provided any details, even though both the qualifier and the CPT events are this week. :( If the package is transferable, I want to buy it if a forumer wins it next time, or from the German who just spent weeks in Las Vegas and may not be as crazy as somebody :-[ in returning so soon.

The date is way too late. Just about anybody interested in the CPT events would need to make work, flight, hotel and other arrangements well before then instead of suddenly trying to make last-minute arrangements before the main event. I would be forced to postpone my departure to the morning of August 17 just to see if I would get lucky the night before, then cancel the hotel booking, then try to arrive and play in the noon tournament with no sleep. Anyway, I'll try to book my hotels and flight soon.

It was probably him then. Thanks for posting though. Had my aces cracked for all my chips but it was a good overlay.

May play again on the 16th if there is a similar overlay.
  • Congratulations to Inquirer for winning the $4,500 CPT package with a huge overlay again! Just like Hard Rock, 888 did a horrible job promoting the event and it is still not in their promotions page, but Inquirer gets the U$2,650 buy-in plus U$1,850 in spending money. Have fun at the CPT 60,000-chip Mega Stack Poker Showdown in Las Vegas.

    Wow, thats awsome, congrats Inquirer!
  • Thanks guys! Were you playing in the tourney as well Blondefish? I was just about to post this in the 'brag' section when I saw this post. Yeah, there was even less people this time, just 11 and I thought the opposition was weaker this time too.

I almost missed the registration. I took another nap as I played until the morning at Fallsview. When my alarm went off my computer had problems starting. When I finally got the software running, I saw that there were only 10 people so I quickly tried to deposit money with less than a minute remaining. Somehow my credit card info was stored (which I never turn on but somehow it was miraculously saved otherwise I would not register on time) and after a few seconds it went through and literally there was 2 seconds left for registration and I got in.

I played pretty aggressively from the get go and I think I went from chip lead to middle of the pack and back several times. Going into heads up I had a pretty big chip lead plus I felt I had the advantage skill wise as well so I was pretty confident in taking it down.

However in a big pot I rivered 2 pair and he rivered the nuts. It went bet, raise, all-in, call. I was really disappointed in how I played the river and he now had a 3 to 1 chip lead. I grinded back and was able to take it down.

I got lucky in a few spots but overall I think I played pretty well. One hand heads up, I had J7 and he had QJ. Flop came 10-9-8. He checked, I bet, he called. Turn came a 7 and it went check check. River came a brick, he bet, I called. I think that 7 on the turn saved me from losing a lot of chips or even the tournament.

Anywho, enough about me, is anyone else going down to play during that time? Hope I won't have too much trouble asking for time off on such short notice...I think I'm just going to take Mon+Tues off.
  • Congrats and GL in Vegas!!
  • Thats freakin awesome! Say hi to Kelly and Herb for me. I had a blast there and am sure you will. Take it down for Canada!
