  • Thats a nasty one. But you did get all your money in preflop where your ahead, thats all you can do. All in against three other players, just hope and pray it holds up. Almost got there though. I get these runner, runner flush beats all the time. No biggie. You probably would have had a good shot at winning the tourney if things had gone your way.
  • lol, love this game eh....
  • Perspective if you will...

Preflop, you were 70/30, or likely to lose just about one time in three...

    Other "1 in 3's"

    - Dice: Rolling a 1 or a 2
    - A decent baseball player getting a base hit
    - Catching a flush draw from the flop on

On the flop, he has one overcard, but also TWO runner runner draws, I think I remember a runner runner being something like a 7:1 draw, so two of those, let's just count it conservatively as another 1.5 outs, for a total of 4.5 outs, which means they're now only about 18% to win, or (for ease of examples), 1 time in 5...

    Other "1 in 5's"
    - Spinning a one or a two in the game of life!
    - Landing on Boardwalk or Parkplace when coming around that last strip in Monopoly.
    - (cheating here, a 1 in 6), rolling a seven with two die.

On the turn, he now has a flush draw, and the over cards, for 12 outs, or roughly 1 time in 4...

    Other "1 in 4's"....

    - Flipping a coin and getting back to back heads
    - Getting to go first in a four player game of Monopoly.
    - The chances of a Blue eyed man and a Brown eyed woman producing a blue-eyed child

This isn't meant to be a slam on the OP or anything, I've just seen a LOT of "bad beat" posts lately about how unlucky someone got, or how online poker's rigged, and yet... there's really nothing THAT extraordinarily uncommon

  • HAHA.

I hope after this post that more people take my poll and foot for "Cerberus is a whiner".

Dude with how much of a PS junkie you are lately i'm amazed this is your only online whine!

Mark, how dare you use my term against me! I have perspective damnit! :)

Anyhow, you're absolutely right in all you said, and this definitely wasn't meant to be one of those "online is rigged" things, as the tinfoil hat comment was a joke.

It was just too ugly a beat for me not to post it.
