CNE Casino Poker

So the Casino at the EX will be opening in a week or so. Had great luck there last year on the Blackjack tables and took down a few grand. Wasn't into poker at the time so I didn't pay too much attention to their poker room (like games, quality etc.) and wanted to know what you guys think of the action there and if it is worth playing.

Thanks

  • Last time I played there, maybe 4 or 5 years ago they only had limit tables but things may be different now.
  • Still pretty sure its all LIMIT. On a side note how can anyone play the table games outside of the poker room without sweating a bucket load. The humidity there is unreal.

The positive cash flow was helpful in this regard.....as well as shorts and bottled water. So I take it the poker room had AC.....looked like a smoking lounge to me

Yeah it's much more comfortable then the outside tables with alot of players who really don't understand the concept of limit poker and will pay you off with 1 pair.
  • That's what I wanted to hear. So it's possible to beat the rake with this crowd that shows up thinking they are getting the NL they see on TV every week?

    fyp.
  • I shall be at the CNE Casino opening day on Monday, August 3. Just like last year, it is located in the northeast corner of the Better Living Centre, open from noon to 6 AM daily until September 7. There is a private air-conditioned area with 22 poker tables. If you have more questions, you can phone 416-263-3251, then post the answers here.

There were silly rumours since last year that CNE obtained a license to run No Limit poker. This one stupid guy kept arguing with me that it was "absolutely positively 100% true," but it is all still LIMIT, $5/10 and $10/20.

Yes, there will be a bunch of Toronto residents who will sign in with the electronic waiting list but not understand Limit, and will keep betting the wrong amounts. "No, you can't raise all-in!"
  • Thanks for the info guys.
