Bad habit?

Am I giving up a lot of value by registering late for stars tourneys?

Everyone seems to be so LAG and annoying the first hour that I've made a habit of getting in the mix 5 minutes before the break for a standard 5 dollar tournament (10 if it's rebuy). I still have plenty of time to play a 20 BB stack and players try so hard to be LAG that doubling up is usually not too tough.

i've considered this as well. there are some pros who even show up late all the time (hellmuth and hansen come to mind) in live tournaments. i personally just don't like the idea of giving my opponents a "head start" on me i guess.

As long as it's not a turbo.....Made that mistake once, and only had 6 or 7 BB's.

But I prefer getting in on time, especially for rebuys, as that is the best time to build a formidable stack, which gives you the best chance to win.

I think you lose too much tourney value by registering late.....but it doesn't seem to stop me from registering late.....lol.

It all depends on how well you play short stacked (30 big blinds or less). If that is a strength in your game then giddy up!
