Bad habit?

Am I giving up a lot of value by registering late for stars tourneys?

Everyone seems to be so LAG and annoying the first hour that I've made a habit of getting in the mix 5 minutes before the break for a standard 5 dollar tournament (10 if it's rebuy). I still have plenty of time to play a 20 BB stack and players try so hard to be LAG that doubling up is usually not too tough.

  • i've considered this as well. there are some pros who even show up late all the time (hellmuth and hansen come to mind) in live tournaments. i personally just don't like the idea of giving my opponents a "head start" on me i guess.

As long as it's not a turbo.....Made that mistake once, and only had 6 or 7 BB's.

But I prefer getting in on time, especially for rebuys, as that is the best time to build a formidable stack, which gives you the best chance to win.

I think you lose too much tourney value by registering late.....but it doesn't seem to stop me from registering late.....lol.
  • It all depends on how well you play short stacked (30 big blinds or less). If that is a strength in your game then giddy up!
