[x] Good Advice
What are the wholecards and flop?
Richard has pocket 10s (club, heart)
The flop was Ace, King, Four all hearts.
1. If he has AK/AQ and maybe AX he would be re-shoving unless he is trapping you
2. More likely he is calling with J10, KQ, QJ, or small PP
3. Cause he called your bet, which wasn't that big on the flop we can probably figure out he has hit a pair (which one I have no clue) or he has the J or Q of hearts and is looking to peel. I tend to think he may be trying to draw, just because you c-bet weak and it looks like you had AX or KX and were hoping to take it down on the flop.
Did I outlevel myself here by thinking that if he had a big ace he'd raise pre and if he hit a set he would bet bigger than he did trying to prize out draws? (I was fairly new to the table but I had a decent read on villain as a scared player).
Do we ever c/r here? I don't like the idea of turning my pretty hand with a nice FD into a bluff. I guess if it's optimal it's optimal since I don't like going broke either but I can't say I like it much. Then again maybe that's because I'm somewhat of a tilted donkey who loves to take down every pot this deep in tournaments ^^'
Good post, it's a lot of the things that went through my head at the time although I might be a bit too greedy trying to get his bet in first before taking him off the pot. We're past the bubble and no major money jumps coming up anytime soon. I don't have many reads on him except that he seems like an extremely scared player.
I dont think at this point in this game its optimal.
Villain has to be capable of laying down toppair, which just doesnt happen in these games.
I also dont like "betting for information" on the flop. This is giving away chips - and alot of them. Half pot bet is commiting 1/4 of your stack.
Youre in a check fold situation.
Check shove if you feel like gambling.
It was extremely rare on this table to see a flop go by without someone betting but I guess it really is a check fold since I don't know what kind of folds he's capable of making. It kinda sucks but I guess that's that.
Does anyone think betting bigger pre would make a difference with 10's in this spot?
I really like the feedback on this hand since I feel I'm going broke way too much with middle to high pairs when an overcard hits. My hand is just so pretty I try to find ways to win with it way more than I probably should
With a limper I make it 8500 - 9K pre.
If the flop is A97 or K83 I am c-betting all day.
This flop = no good for you.
