  • Once a month, usually towards the end. $500 entry
  • Ya but you have to be jobless with nothing on the go or have a night job to play. None of these poker rooms have weekend events. I think if they did they would create more traffic at their casinos.

  • ummmmmmm they don't need more traffic on weekends, hence the kiss concert today and tomorrow, they need more during the week:)

  • So philliivey, I guess you have the time to go to these tournaments during the week? I know I don't working 40-50 hrs/wk. What i was trying to say is if they had the $500 tourneys on a wknd rather than a wk day they would have me there and I'd dare to say a few more people and the payout would be that much larger. Traffic i.e. bigger payout for tournament not slot machines.

Dude, you seem to be very new to the poker arena in ontario.

Casino's have a limited amount of space. It doesn't matter if the tournament is on a friday night or a tuesday morning, they have x number of seats. In Brantford and Port Perry, they sell out EVERY SINGLE TOURNAMENT and these tournaments are run in the middle of the day during the middle of the week.

They are not some bar league tournament in which someone wins a cup holder for their car.
  • I understand that bro and new? I don't think so. I've played in the only tournament done right in and around Ontario, at Seneca Niagara Falls N.Y. where they held it on the weekend. Men "The Master" was there Phil "The unibomber" what would be great is if we too had some on the wknd's. I don't think space is the casinos problem. Cheap shot artist eh lol
  • ya thanks bud, but no i don't believe in spending 500 bucks on poker.

you do know how small the room is at rama? yes they have a ballroom which was used for the degree poker championships, but like everyone else they don't want to use all the resources and money for something that will not bring people in.

They don't hold weekend events cause they don't need to was what i was saying, they are full right from 11-noonish saturday through sunday night.
  • Ya no doubt eh lol there's a lot of people dying to play those machines. I'd rather play the odds I get in poker, much better E.V.

Much better EV for you. You seem to have forgotten that Rama is interested in positive EV for Rama, which poker, tournaments or otherwise, most decidedly is NOT.

Slots > poker. Just ask anybody even remotely familiar with the casino business.
  • Can't argue there.
  • thank you milo, even though you told me to fuck myself your still my favourite:). but it's the week of everyone dumping on me......

i am the rama guy, even though i am not going there right now i can still try answer some things if i can about it or if anyone wants tickets we may be able to come to a agreement if i can get em.

  • No worries, Philli. I had my tongue firmly in my cheek there. I'm pushing 45 in several weeks, so maybe I'm a little sensitive . . .
  • Agree with Milo here, most casinos in Ontario could give a rats ass about tournaments. Slots are more lucrative.
  • yes.

i remember when they put it in and was surprised that they actually put one in as they had to take out slots to make it, it was a bar/lounge kinda thing before it.
