  • Anybody planning any satellite for this GBH tournament? If I don't get a seat to APT Macau or CPT Mega Stack in Las Vegas in August, I'll probably buy in to this $1,100 event.

  • I was thinking of going down to the August event...just have to see if I can get the time off of work or not. Seemed like a good event, they don't usually sell out do they?? (the 1100 events that is)
  • I here the ones in the east get pretty packed, usually you see 150-250 players here at that buy in level. Fat pot but room for a few more if need be.
  • Yes, most CPT events in Ontario have sold out, including the last $1,100 event that I played in.

  • Hmm...sounds very tempting....I'll keep you posted Blondfish....
  • Just put the $1100 up on an event listing, on the GBH Charity Casino site it looks like they cap these at 110 players.

I heard that before, no idea why they would limit it like that, I think it was BlondeFish said OLG is pretty tough on big events....

I also see there is another big tourney coming up, not CPT so I'll start another thread
  • For those that paid for the $1,100 entry this Wednesday with a credit card, you may want to check the amount. My Mastercard was charged $1,320 and a couple of other players from the rake-free satellite were also over-charged with the same 20% "rake" ??? on a VISA card. You should file a complaint with both GBH and the card company by Wednesday.

Maybe they charged it in USD? Thats weird though since it is in Canada.

Either that or they figure Buddy is at least 20% better than the rest of the field and charged him accordingly. :)

Naw that's the tip... You know just like the high class restaurants (which I never go to) that automatically add the 20% tip to the bill...
  • Every single player that I talked to and checked their credit card charge also has the $1,320 overbilling. GBH accounting phoned me and agreed to a meeting during a tournament break tomorrow so any of the forumers who checked their overcharge can join and apply for the 20% "rakeback." I will be carpooling for the first time to GBH.

"A meeting" to discuss their overcharge?

I'll be having my credit card company reimburse me if port perry decides not to. Don't let them steal your money people.

Can't they just reimburse you over the phone? Cancel the first payment and rebill a 2nd time? Thats a pain if they are making you go all the way there. If you never signed anything with the amount then you could just chargeback on your credit card.
