BOOST FOR BUDDY (blondefish)

  • The bad news is that I went so card dead in Level 9 when huge aggressive stacks moved to the table (including a pro who TJ Cloutier and others admired his 200,000 stack) that if I didn't call a river bet with King-high, I wouldn't have won a single pot! I am down to 38,000 chips. The good news was that when the table was broken, I was moved to the ESPN Feature Table with Phil Hellmuth!

Unsponsored players are sometimes paid by Full Tilt and others to wear their clothing for the camera, but I was committed to wearing PartyPoker clothing. I was miked up just like at the Dominican Republic final table and asked for my name and other information. I played one hand, hoping to be in a hand with the whiny-as-usual Hellmuth, but he folded and I got rivered.

I will be at table BR 246 on Day 3, Friday at noon, when I will badly need a boost. I get to stay in my suite until at least July 11. Thursday is a day off, so if I can't find a way to get an invite to the PokerStars party at the Palms, I will go to the Everest party at the Penthouse of Caesars Palace.

    Hellmuth Slips, Buddy

the word "buddy" was in there more than a few times.
    :
Just a few hands later, Hellmuth again opened the pot for 1,200, and again his 'buddy' called from the cutoff seat.
  • Great update and story with Hellmuth/TJ Cookier. Too bad you were committed to Party Poker. Keep at it and good luck when you are back at the table... hopefully the cards are dealt better in your favour on day 3.

On 2+2 someone mentioned that they were paid $5k to wear a full tilt patch....pretty ridiculous imo

Last year Stars/Full Tilt were giving players $10K to wear their patches at the feature table. I'm not 100% sure when that was, might've been like a day 4 or something after they were in the money.

    Good luck tomorrow Buddy.

That's precisely the reason why I didn't sign the Stars T&C, but I didn't even last through Day 1..meh
  • Wow - exciting Buddy!! Here is a BOOST for Thursday while you gear up and a BOOST for Friday when you take the table by storm!

For last years event, I know a guy that won his seat through FTP, made the feature table (was either day 1 or 2), and got 10G's from FTP. He didn't make the money otherwise.

Money was paid via his FTP account.
  • Kido Pham will be in my table. With the highest CPR increase since Level 5, all but three of the players are in the Yellow Zone. There are only three tables with a higher number in the Brasilia room, so I think that my table will be broken up early again.

    Vinsant, Jeremiah 95,900
    McCoy, Chris 73,800
    Gabel, John 162,000
    Bowerman, Christian 40,000
    Ciarrocchi, Vincent 47,400
    Desmoort, Jean 66,500
    Pham, Kido 47,000
    Giandomenico, Italiano 43,200

It looks like the poker site didn't book off enough suites for its qualifiers making it this far, as Monte Carlo is making me move to another room. I am currently using the laptop of another qualifier who is the only one left whom I had swapped a WSOP percentage with.

  • I guess the pushfest is about to start; hope you get in ahead and stay that way.
  • I predict a first level triple up with your AKs against two callers when you push...hitting top two pair.^-^

Should put you right back into the thick of things.

    Good luck Buddy!

Giandomenico, Italiano is a nobody playing in his first major.

Pham, Kido is a dangerous experienced aggressive player.

  • Just wanted to extend all the luck to the remaining forumers in the Main Event.

    PLAY TO WIN!
  • Seriously... best of luck and good karma to all forumers still playing in the Main Event.

I have been back from Vegas almost a week now and it sure sucks to be back to the daily grind... wish I was still there to throw some rail support...

+1 Why am I back home.....I belong in Vegas....

Sametime next year we will be back ;)
  • Just wanted to send a boost as well! Gogogo!
  • +1 on the two players doubling you up, but I'm going a step further. Two of the stacks bigger than you double up your AKs. The very next hand, both of those players and one of the little stacks get it all in and you look down at JJ in the bb. The odds are too great to fold, you call and you're up against three opp's w/AKo. :) Enjoy your 300K stack after the first two hands. )
  • GL again today Buddy!!!
  • Would not know Buddy from Adam, but I hope you absolutely BLITZ your table today. TID.
  • After having my flopped two pair get rivered by a higher two pair, I am now on life support. I was all-in with 9-7 and got called by only A-6 in the SB and sucked out trips. I have been all-in twice since then, including AA four-handed on the flop after I limped UTG. I am at 22,000 chips at the beginning of Level 10 with an M of 5.2 (800/1600 + 200).
  • So, what you're saying is, they have you right where you want them . . .
    Kill 'em all . . .
  • Chip and a chair is all you need... stick in there!
  • Thanks to all the boosts, I have survived a couple of all-ins and currently have 42,300 chips at the beginning of Level 12 - 1000/2000+300 (M = 7). After two table moves early on, I continue to be in table BR 173.

20k more than last update, very nice! Go Buddy go!
  • 1 Level left for the night. GL if you guys are still alive. Actyper had 120K last I heard.
  • 210K for Actyper with 1 level left.
  • I'm like a cockroach - 44,600 chips at the start of the final level of the Day 4 - 14 (1500/3000+400), M = 5.5. There are less than 945 players left. with 648th place winning U$21,365.
  • Thats what I want to hear buddy, NO QUIT IN YOU. GL in the last level.
  • Somehow made it to Day 4 - 35,000 chips with less than 810 players left.
