Button play vs weak BB and thoughts on betting the river

Villain is your standard mtt fish, just pretty much loose/bad...
Do we ever bet the river here in hopes of being called by Jx, even Ax hands that we beat, or by the river are we only getting called by a better hand if we bet out?
Also, is my turn bet too weak, should I be making it a lot bigger?

  • personally i'd probably check it here. the villian is allegedly very bad and therefore if he's the type of person to call down with only top pair (or something similar) it may be worth a value bet. however, he could easily be chasing the flush and there are some straight possibilities as well. also, villian has a decent sized stack and there's no need to risk almost all your chips here. what happens if you bet the river and he check/raises you? very tough decision.

check it and (hopefully) take down the decent sized pot.

i might have made my turn bet 3/4 of the pot just to make him pay to chase any draws. however, you do only have top pair and a medium kicker so no need to pump the pot too much here. 1/2 to 3/4 pot bet seems okay.
  • At that point I think a check is best. He's probably not calling with much less than a hand that beats you.
